Here’s  our FPL teams GW9 article where the FFGeek contributors show us their team before the transfer deadline.  Just the 1 article today as the early deadline makes things tricky

FPL TEAMS GW9 – FFGEEK CONTRIBUTORS SHOW THEIR TEAMS – PART 1

Here’s a reduced version of the 10 or so FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont covering early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

JOSEPH CRILLEY

Joseph finished with an overall rank of 13k last season

GW8 Points 58 -4 (Avg 41) Total Points 460 OR 258k TV 102.0m

Another decent week for my team after a score of 58 (-4) made it 4 green arrows out of 5 since I played my wildcard in GW4 which has seen me rise from 1.67mil to 258k in that time. My transfers did the business in GW8 as Sterling and Jesus returned a combined 28 points, almost half of my total score! My other returns came from Swansea as Fabianski kept a clean sheet but the highlight of my week was when I saw the notification with a Tom Carroll assist pop up after I decided to start him.

I like the set up of my team currently and there is a plan to bring in Richarlison for Brady next week ahead of his good fixtures and he will remain my cheap midfielder for the foreseeable future. I still think three premium strikers is the best strategy, though I am finding it tough to decide which ones I want but I’ll come back to that later. My defence looks reasonably solid with some good fixtures on the horizon but I will be looking to make a couple of switches in the near future.

Onto this week then and my plan had originally been to save the free transfer this week so I could assess the premium striker situation with Morata and Aguero coming back to injury. I am still leaning towards this but one option has been creeping into my mind. With the worrying home form of Kane and his next couple of fixtures not looking so good, I am tempted to transfer him out for Aguero with the view to bringing Kane back for GW11 in place of Jesus. I do like the look of this but I’m not sure that I have the nerve to go through with it. It would require 2 extra transfers to essentially have Aguero over Kane for the next couple of weeks but I’d have the added benefit of having the Argentinian instead of Jesus in the long run.

Regarding the rest of the team, it’s an easy benching for Brady and Mee away at City. That just leaves me to decide between Carroll and the returning RLC. I think that I’m going to back the Swansea man again though against a Leicester team who recently sacked their manager. The fact that I have Elliot in goal, who I fancy over Fabianski, playing against RLC also factored into this decision.

Captaincy is tough for me this week; Kane hasn’t really crossed my mind and I don’t fully trust Lukaku for some reason. I would like to captain a City asset but there is always the worry that they’ll be benched so it’s very much up in the air for the armband at the moment. It’s currently on the United man which is probably the safe option.

I would love to have some insight from Pep during his press conference. If he strongly suggests that Aguero will start, I may well bring him in and captain him. Unfortunately, I can’t say too much about my team with any certainty at the moment and decisions will be made tomorrow after the press conferences. Apologies that I couldn’t offer as much insight into my team as usual but that’s the problem with a Friday deadline!

Best of luck to everyone this week and may your arrows be green!

Transfer banked after playing the wildcard in GW8. Looking at Morata or Kun in for Vardy next week. Whichever I choose it will require a downgrade somewhere in defence or midfield, not yet clear who’ll make way.

MIKAEL L. DANIELSEN

Mikael finished 5,846 OR last season

GW8 points 43 WC average 41. total points 449 Overall Rank 439k Team value £102.3m

Had three players who didn’t play last week (Davies, Martina, Mbemba) and King only played 1 minute, so I’ll take a point hit this week.

Transfer out: Davies, Martina.
Transfer in: Jones, Fonte.

WHU have kept 3 clean sheets in the last 5 games, Brighton and Palace next.

I’m taking Fonte instead of Cresswell who is £0.1m cheaper. This allows me to upgrade Andy King to RLC next week.

DAREN CHEW

Daren finished in 4k last season, 24k in 15/16 and 11k in 14./15. Incredibly he finished 46th in 12/13

GW8 points: 54 (Av 41) Total Points: 458 Overall Rank: 286k Team Value £102.8m

Accidentally did this Transfer. So a minus 4 and hope it pays off. Was suppose to keep the FT. But hope luck is on my side.

Did it before the early kick off MU vs Liv. So basically sold Holgate and Eriksen. In comes Richarlison & Alonso. Got a Tipster over the Weekday from my fellow Grudgers OYJ who asked me to Capt Lukaku over Kane. My argument is that Lukaku’s form is weak this few GW’s and the only thing is he is a Flat Track Bully. Kane will most probably Score this week as statically its impossible to blank so many home games. There goes my plan of Mkhi to Sterling.Good Luck!

CESSPOOL

Last season he finished in 21k overall rank.

GW8 points: 55 (-4) average 41 Total Points: 485 Overall Rank: 54k Team Value £102.2m

A decent if not spectacular showing last week. I was basically bailed out by my transfers in of Jesus and Sterling for a hit. This week is a very difficult week with the shadow of Aguero hanging over all serious FPL’ers. He did not play against Napoli so does that mean he will play against Burnley? I think he may play 25 minutes or so, but have you ever had a broken rib? Every wrong movement you make hurts a lot—I suspect that Pep was trying to deceive Napoli into thinking Aguero would play so the City formation would be in doubt. Anyway, Jesus has done so well I am sticking with him this week at least.

It will also be interesting to see how Chelsea plays with Morata and Hazard. When Hazard was out, Morata was the true focus of their offense. I am thinking that with the return of Hazard, the effect will be to dent Morata’s appeal because he will have fewer touches. Certainly against Roma Hazard was directly in front of goal where Morata used to be almost exclusively. Something to watch.

I am not doing a transfer this week in order to have two for GW10. I may need it to get Aguero in for Jesus (hope not) but the other move I am contemplating is trading Salah to Silva or Sane (has a nice ring to it) and then replace Otamendi with Trippier. That exchange would also free up enough cash to move out Cedric to a 5.5 or more defender. Given the lack of value in midfielders at or below 7.0, I think investment in defense will pay off long term.

Captain decision this week is difficult: I think I will go for either Jesus or Kane. My captain picks have been absolutely horrible (thanks Geek!) so I may decide to go against the flow.
