Introduction

It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends.

However the FFGeek team, the Transfer Planner Team and the Contributor Tracker team Plus the Contributor teams of Rob, Rick, Andrew, Kris, Kev and Joe mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make notified transfers live as they are completed. So you’re always up to date and live for a maximum £3 PCM.

The reference to 19 top managers is from the article where I follow 19 top FPL managers who have finished in the top 10k overall rank the last 3 seasons.

Pete Allaway

Pete’s last 5 season’s overall ranks are 242k, 1k, 5k, 5k and 2k

GW22 points: 66 (19 Top managers average 58) Total points: 1,345 Overall Rank: 31k, green Arrow 13k  Team Value: £106.1m

Gameweek 22 saw 6 of my starting 11 get returns and I ended with 66 points. This resulted in a green arrow back up to 31k. The late call to swap the captaincy from Alvarez to Foden hurt, but I’m just pleased it didn’t cost me getting a green arrow.

I’ve 1 free transfer and £13.1 million in the bank going into gameweek 23 and it looks like it’s finally time to bring Haaland back into my side. He came off the bench to play 20 minutes against Burnley so I’ll most likely be bringing him into my side this week for Alvarez.

Watkins currently has the armband, however it could be tempting to switch it to Haaland if I do bring him in.

Transfer summary:  Likely Alvarez OUT and Haaland IN

Here’s the team prior to any transfers being made

Rick Porter

Rick’s last 7 seasons ORs were 12k, 38k, 1k, 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW22 points: 65 (19 Top managers average 58) Total points: 1,302 Overall Rank: 195k, green arrow: 53k   Team Value: £104.9m

A solid week that saw me recover the dropped points from the previous week. Back into the top 200k with a 50k green arrow.

Some small frustrations (defence) were comfortably offset by all my attackers except Bowen returning, so while I could be 7 points better off had I gone Alvarez over Foden for captain, I’m pretty happy with how things have turned out.

GW22

I brought in Foden this week through fear of his EO. I was right to be concerned, as he was well-captained and hit a hefty 77%. De Bruyne also had a 70% EO, but I couldn’t bring him in without some hefty sacrifices and hits later. Going without Foden as well as De Bruyne would have seen me facing some horrible odds, so I felt it sensible to recruit him and then also stick him with the armband to hopefully justify the transfer further. A by-product of that was having to bench Palmer who then also posed a massive threat but, considering the fixture, he had to be the one to sit out. It all worked out reasonably well, but covering Foden wasn’t part of my plan, so it does have implications…
