Introduction

It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends.

However the FFGeek team, the Transfer Planner Team and the Contributor Tracker team Plus the Contributor teams of Rob, Rick, Andrew, Kris, Kev and Joe mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make notified transfers live as they are completed. So you’re always up to date and live for a maximum £3 PCM.

The reference to 19 top managers is from the article where I follow 19 top FPL managers who have finished in the top 10k overall rank the last 3 seasons

Gameweek 23 is a week that I’d like to quickly forget.  My goalkeeper and 3 defenders only managed 4 points between them, I captained Solanke who blanked, and I benched Foden for his hattrick against Brentford. I ended the week with 54 points and a big red arrow from 31k down to 82k.

1 free transfer and £6 million in the bank ahead of gameweek 24, and my focus is going to be on Liverpool and Manchester City players who both double in GW25. Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Darwin, Walker, Ake and De Bruyne are all on my radar.

One thing to note with Liverpool players is they go straight from a double gameweek in 25 to a blank in 26, so tripling up on them could result in having to take hits to field 11 in the blank. For that reason I’m leaning towards bringing Alisson in as he will be easy to put on the bench in gameweek 26 while I start my other keeper.

I’d also like to add Darwin and Walker to my side to triple up on both teams and plan to make the moves over the next 2 weeks, taking my first hit of the season.

As it stands I’m looking to move Lascelles to Walker this week as well as Dubravka to Alisson for a hit. Haaland will get the armband.

Transfer summary:  Likely Lascelles OUT Walker IN and Dubravka OUT to Alisson IN for -4 points

Here’s the team prior to any transfers being made

GW23 Review

What looked like was going to a 3rd consecutive red arrow, thankfully turned green in the last game of the week and a decent green at that with a 20% rank rise. Foden was the hero – a week too late in one sense, but 20 points for a player with 50% EO is not to be sniffed at. All my midfielders returned – Gross finally paid back my GW21 transfer in and Saka and Palmer both added goals. An 18 pointer from Watkins too which was rank neutral and a sole assist from Captain Haaland, though this actually gave me a decent boost too with his EO at just under 100%.

The main rank killers were Richarlison and Kevin De Bruyne. KDB has a pretty high EO now – when Foden’s second game went in, I checked LiveFPL for my rank change and was surprised to see it was only a couple of %. This was down to the KDB assist and at full-time some bonus point readjustments just edged me out the top 200k overall. Oh and the less said about my defence the better!

I’ve got some challenges coming up – my defence is threadbare with both my squad players injured and Porro and Alexander-Arnold facing a blank in GW26. I managed to roll a transfer this week so I’m pretty well set to attack GW24. Here’s a few thoughts on this week, but also my longer term strategy with respect to the upcoming blank and double gameweeks.

90 points which was a good sized green arrow from 1.05m to 708k, however I’ve had a few of these and ended up with red arrows back to sub1m a few times now. Hopefully can get some momentum though. It could have been nicer had Konsa stayed past 60m to get the clean sheet but I did get Gross’s 11 points off the bench for Isak (although it was expected Isak wouldn’t play, there was still a chance).
