Hi all.

A third GW in a row where I successfully take a hit, which has seen my OR half in the process. I however expect three far more challenging GWs, at least the latter two, but where I hope to more than make up the lost ground in the final 7 GWs of the season.

This week is fairly straightforward for me as not real fires to address but need to continue to focus on GW29 players as I am still thinking that I will not FH then; I currently only have 4 GW29 players and will probably settle with 8, as see little upside in hits for Morris and in defence in a GW that will likely see a low ceiling (hence my expectation of a red arrow then). I also see little value in multiple hits to lead up with GW28 doublers, hence will probably only have a maximum of 3.

Current chip strategy is WC 30 or 31, FH 34 and BB 37, but not yet done tinkering with the greater rotation risk expected in 37. The teams probably doubling in 34 are generally not teams where I want to carry many players, hence the current plan.

Highly likely to transfer Son in for Garnacho. If Solanke is declared fit, will probably bench Douglas Luiz.

Haaland C, Saka VC.

Transfer summary:  Likely Garnacho OUT and SON in

GW26 Review

Another disappointing gameweek. Fielding 11 in a blank gameweek, I would have expected at least a grey arrow but to get a nasty red and fall even further off the pace was frustrating. Only 4 returners and although they were all reasonable returns, they were all high ownership players – Saka, Watkins, Foden and Haaland. Nothing from my defence (the Arsenal clean sheet being busted really did for me) and nothing from my lower ownership players. This latter point has been the recurring theme over the last few weeks – I’m missing these hauls from lower ownership players where they’ve been on my shopping list and I’ve gone for the wrong option.

The good news is that ‘chip season’ now approaches which tends to suit us more engaged managers. The blanks are fairly well set now – we know how GW29 is going to set up and we have a bit of an idea how GW34 and 37 will set up too. We also have a small double gameweek on the horizon, so much to work towards – hopefully I can claw my way back up the rankings a bit!
