FPL tips GW27 – FFGeek contributors show their GW27 teams part 4

Introduction

This is part 4 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. In the future it also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

GW26 observations before getting into the player analysis:

•     Sorry for the delay this week. I just got home from driving 21 hours from vacationing in Florida back to Toronto. I was simply going to swap Kelly to Boly and send Geek the article.. then the Son news came out and I have been finding an easy swap tough. Ultimately I am going to keep Kelly (who now seems fit and Tomkins is injured based on the presser) and get Wolves in up front. I think I am going to bring Martial in for son so I can have the funds for Jimenez or Tammy (if Pool beat them in Cup) soon.

•     Great score. Very happy. Ironically mostly because of Son who is now causing problems.

Game week player analysis:

☆   Keeper

•    McCarthy. Hoped for a Burnley CS. Oh well.

•    Gazzaniga. Losing value but not a priority.

☆     Defenders

•    Alexander Arnold. The man.

•    Robertson. ..also the man..

•    Söyüncü. A clean sheet and a BPS. That felt better than the Son haul, almost.

•    Kelly. The presser makes it sound like he may be back and starting. That would be extremely helpful for GW28.

•    Lundstram. Thanks for the 7 buddy. Going to hold this week. If he makes a surprise start it would make dropping him very difficult. I doubt that would happen though.

☆     Midfielders

•    De Bruyne. I was so close to captaining him. A 50 50 call wrong if you want to call it that.

•    Salah. Blanks on the road again. I guess his form wasn’t as white hot as we thought.

•    Son to Martial. I almost did Fernandes last night but I really dont like that he shoots from so far back (like Neves). I am sure he will have a few highlight real goals but for the same price Martial is CF. Rashford is out longer than we expect and now Greenwood is hurt. So there is only really the new signing as competition.

•    Hayden. 2nd bench sub purely because Soyuncu plays City. He deserves to be 3rd though lets be real.

•    Grealish. Looked absolutely class last weekend.

☆     Forwards

•    Vardy. Pot committed.

•    Ayew. Still deciding between him and Lundstram for 1st bench this week.

•    Ings. Goal. Clockwork. Hes 10 weeks ago Vardy right now.

Upcoming GW27

☆ Musical Chairs

Son ➡️ Martial

☆ Captain

Salah. VC Ings

☆ Substitute decisions

Gazzaniga. Ayew. Hayden. Söyüncü.

Jordan Sadler

Jordan finished in 14k last season and 76k in 17/18

GW26 points: 61 (FPL average 56) Total points 1,443 Gameweek rank 2,635k, Overall Rank: 530k, red arrow 1k , Team Value: £105.7m

GW26 Review:

Another average gameweek scoring 61 and now sitting at 530k. I had 6 players return, with De Bruyne being a double digit return. Unfortunately my benching off Martial didn’t work out but my team is pretty deep so unfortunately I often have to bench good players. This year has been a major contrast to my last two, especially last year. I was pretty much always ahead of the game last year, making proactive transfers and having strong differentials alongside the key template players, which is why I finished around 15k. This year however I think I’ve been too reactive and I think I have too many template players which means my good weeks are small green arrows but my bad weeks are big red arrows. I definitely think I need to learn from this next year and take note of this to try and finish the season strong.

GW27:

Transfers:

Ryan has been severely underwhelming since bringing him in and his fixtures are pretty poor for the remainder of the season so I’ve moved over to Pope as his fixtures look good to the end of the year as there’re only 2 bad ones. My second transfer is Lundstrum to Boly. Lundstrum has been great and I did have 0.5m invested in him but his gametime concerns and missing GW28 fixture means it’s now time for him to come out. Wolves have a decent run of fixtures coming up and Boly is a good price, so he definitely seems like the best choice in that price range.

Bench:

Sidibe vs Arsenal (A) first on the bench and then Soyuncu vs Man City (H) second on the bench. Arsenal were great against Newcastle so if they play like that again it won’t be easy for Everton to keep a clean sheet this week, plus everyone else in my team has more favourable fixtures. Soyuncu is self-explanatory with Leicester playing Man City. Then my third sub is my bench fodder Saka, though he has played 90 in 3 of the last 4 so that’s interesting, returning in 2.

Captain:

Has to be Salah. Last two times Liverpool have played West Ham at home they’ve scored 4. In the last 6 games they’ve played West Ham they’ve scored 19 goals, 4 of which they scored 4 in. There’s just no other option for me unless you have Mane of course.

Good luck with gameweek 27.

Transfer summary: Lundstram and Ryan out. Pope and Boly in
