FPL TIPS GW4 – FFGEEK CONTRIBUTORS SHOW THEIR TEAMS FOR GW4 – PART 1
Here’s the 4th week of the series where 10 or so FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories show their teams before the gameweek deadline. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may subsequently change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont covering early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more. There will also be times when people don’t produce their teams for whatever reason.

GW4 Team – TV £100.7m, 1 transfer made, OR 850k
I deliberated strongly over this one after the end of GW3 and I made a very controversial transfer pre-price changes: Morata for Kane. It’s a transfer based mainly on returns and value. I guess most people’s thoughts would be: are you mad? Well here’s my thinking. First of all my team’s main problem is the midfield. I’m happy with Mykhitaryan and my 2 cheapies. What I’m not happy with is my two £7m players, Ramsey and Willian. I had £1.9m in the bank so Salah was just out of my reach (and has Man City this week) as were Alli and Eriksen. My second major issue is Kane’s 4 points in 3 games and stats aside this can’t be ignored. For the highest value player in the game that’s not good enough. Yes, his FPL points don’t really mirror his stats and yes he’ll likely explode at some point but I think there’s a way around this by using Eriksen or Alli as cover. They’re scoring well at the moment are likely to be involved when Kane does start to return.
Then there’s Morata – great form and only going to get better I reckon when Hazard comes back. His stats aren’t far behind Kane’s and he’s £2.5m less. It’s a risk, but I think it’s worth the gamble at this early stage. If it doesn’t pay off? I’ve got £4.4m in the bank so I’ve got the funds to buy Kane back. And I’ve always got my Wildcard…
Onto my team this week; a couple of selection dilemmas. Basically it’s 4-3-3 vs 3-4-3. Bailly is definitely in as is Dawson, even though they’re both away from home. Can’t overlook a premium defender for a team that hasn’t conceded and WBA are playing Brighton. Monreal is in as well. Yes Arsenal have been awful in defence, but it’s a good fixture so there’s a good chance of a clean sheet or an attacking return.
Here’s the tricky bit – it’s Mee (CPL) versus midfielders Atsu (swa) or Carroll (NEW). Atsu got an assist last week but I suspect Newcastle may struggle away to the Swans and Carroll isn’t guaranteed a start now with the arrival of Sanches. Mee has a nice home fixture so although I would usually opt for the attacking player, I’ve gone for Mee this week and am going 4-3-3. Willian and Ramsey also have some gametime risk so it may be that one of my mids comes off the bench anyway.
I’ve got the armband on Morata at the moment, though I may change this to Lukaku. I’m even a bit tempted to captain Forster as there’s no standout choice this week! So the long international break is over and we move on to GW4. One transfer made for me to avoid losing funds; Ake to Naughton. I’d like to have kept Ake as I think Bournmouth will come good and they have nice fixtures but injury and the price drop forced my hand. I am still deciding on whether to bring in Alonso or have a more balanced defense of Jones and Davies. Either way the 0.5 gained from this move will help.
In a bizarre first for me all my defenders play at home and all my midfielders and forwards play away! The team picks itself due to injury to Mbemba and Danilo likely back on the bench. My plan is to move Danilo out of my team next week. Lukaku captain for me although I’d be happy to punt on someone else if I had a strong gut feel as the polls don’t seem to show a massive leader.

So my transfers were Lacazette out for Morata and Mbemba in for Dummet, this was based around price increases and was happy to take a 4 point hit!

I think Alli is about to explode. I know Everton is a tough fixture this week but I am going with my differential pick this week as well as Kane as captain.

For GW4 I got in Pogba/Alonso for KdB/Stephens for a hit, my second this season. I’m still hesitant over the captain pick — will be Kane or Lukaku for me (on Kane currently).
The season has been terrible for me so far, I’m outside top 2.5m currently. The heavyhitters have failed me (Kane, KdB) and I had no Liverpool cover. But the team doesn’t look bad, things should improve, I hope
MIKAEL L. DANIELSEN

No transfer this week. I have changed formation to 4-3-3. Naughton is playing WB and with Bony there he could get some nice assist. Ramsey is a doubt, I’m not sure he is nailed. I wait for the presser. As replacement for Ramsey I’m considering Robbie Brady wich allowed me to upgrade one of my 4.5 mid or Rosenior for next GW.
