Introduction
Here’s our fantasy premier league transfer tips GW4 article where we analyse the teams of 20 top FPL managers. These 12 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons.
The criteria I’ve always been looking for is managers who’ve finished in the top 10k for the last 3 years when FPL has become considerably harder due to the amount of people playing and the information available. Last season we had 20. This season 12.
The 12 managers stats
These managers are incredible and every bit as impressive as last season.
1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 20 managers in the last 3 seasons is 3,495
2. The top 20 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 60 times playing)
3. 7 of the 20 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons

So after the weekend 10 of the teams have Haaland and the other 2 used their free hit so no need to seperate any more
note in this particular case the 262k average overall rank isn’t an average but reflects the overall rank of the total points of 230. Averages of Overall Ranks get distorted as the relationship to points is not linear
The spread of GW1 points is points 23.

The Template
This season I’m just going to give a template team which represents the most used players by these managers but also it has to fit into a reasonable team value.
The full template team was over £5.0m over budget
The team I show here will be within a reasonable budget. To make the team below work value wise I had to do the following
Gomez instead of template Gross
Slater instead of template Palmer. (Bruno has a higher current ownership although that could be reversed this weekend)

It has a few differences with the above template but that’s understandable when we started blind vs it in GW1. Each week we will look at how to align with it and whether it makes projected sense to do so
