FPL transfer tips GW5– Analysing the teams of 12 top FPL managers
Here’s our fantasy premier league transfer tips GW5 article where we analyse the teams of 20 top FPL managers. These 12 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons.
Introduction
The criteria I’ve always been looking for is managers who’ve finished in the top 10k for the last 3 years when FPL has become considerably harder due to the amount of people playing and the information available. Last season we had 20. This season 12.
The 12 managers stats
These managers are incredible and every bit as impressive as last season.
1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 20 managers in the last 3 seasons is 3,495
2. The top 20 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 60 times playing)
3. 7 of the 20 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons
Here’s their FPL IDs and last 3 season’s ranks
It is ordered by the best average of the 3 ranks
Here’s their position after GW4
note in this particular case the 179k average overall rank isn’t an average but reflects the overall rank of the total points of 319. Averages of Overall Ranks get distorted as the relationship to points is not linear
The spread of GW4 points is points 34.
Here’s a link to the google spreadsheet as the above will be very difficult to read on a phone
