Another gameweek which has summed up my season to date; medicore with a small red arrow. Having Pogba as captain was unbelievable bad luck and set the scene really although Jiminez and new signing Alexander-Arnold paid back his hit immediately with a 9-pointer. Sterling and Rashford were unlucky not to get points whilst the rest toiled. All eyes are now on the final quarter of the season as hopefully my GW31 and beyond planning pays off.

Transfers and captaincy

I have made the unusual move of making my transfers early this week purely down to having the exact funds to do so and the fact none of the affected players play midweek. I have switched Pogba and Rashford who have Arsenal then a blank for Hazard and Barnes for a hit who both play in GW31 and probably GW33. This now gives me 10 players for GW31 with another free transfer to make the full quota. I’m not sure it has been worth the agony and potential lost points over the last 5 or so gameweeks to make the eleven up however we will see and is definitely something I will be reviewing at the end of the season in preparation for next season.

Sterling is my likely captain at home to a dismal Watford. I am worried about Aguero but we cant have them all.

A decent week and rise back into the top 300 with Jota being the main reason thanks to his goodbye haul on Saturday. I made two transfers on Sunday with Jota and Sane coming out for Alexander-Arnold and Mane with an eye on the next few weeks. With the FA Cup fixtures now taking place at the same time as league games there is no need to avoid these gameweeks any more with teams out of the cup. Saying that I still have 7 players still in the cup so a decent spread going into the international break in a couple of weeks. During the break we will know the upcoming doubles and then can plan accordingly to maximise the remainder of our transfers.

An average week in Sky with me holding rank mainly down to my poor captain picks of Pogba and Hazard who I brought in on Sunday. I feel lucky so far not to have succumbed to an Aguero or Salah hammering though there is plenty of time for that with next week looking ripe! Liverpool defence seems the way to go currently and this should continue with good fixtures until the end of the season. Jimenez continues to offer great value and I am hoping my midfield trio of Maddison, Anderson and Almiron finally deliver over the next few games with their good runs. I transferred out Son, with Spurs looking lacklustre, to Hazard and will re-evaluate Spurs when the remaining fixtures are known following the FA Cup weekend.

Transfers and captaincy

This week could be my undoing as I have no City players and no Salah or Mane with both teams having plum home fixtures. I am tempted to move Pogba to Sterling to cover that day or could pick a random captain that day as a differential, I will make a decision on the day. On Sunday I will very likely captain Van-Dijk who looks imperious and very dangerous at set plays with Hazard the alternative.

With Aubameyang benched for the early kick off I changed my plan and in the end made all 3 transfers switching out Aubameyang, Jota and Sane for Jesus, Azpilicueta and Mane. No immediate returns for well set throughout March and into early April. A poor week with only Hazard and Robertson returning but a good cross-section of players now playing in Europe over the next couple of weeks before we move into the international break.

Transfers

All used for March as above. It’s a short month fixture-wise so I’m not concerned using them early.

The Liverpool defenders continue to hoover up the points and with Hazard returning it was a decent week again for this team. With Aubameyang not starting I made the transfers of Laporte, Lacazatte and Jota to Azpilicueta, Jesus and Pedro which will hopefully serve me well until April with Europe in mind.
