Could any decision be contemplated more? After mulling over whether to use my fantasy premier league January wildcard straight away the January window opened I decided that the state of my team meant I had no choice but to do so. That gave me a “free transfer “in effect for GW21 and a way of plugging the hole that Bale and Michu were leaving with both probably not playing today. I had hinted on this in earlier articles from today. So from 11.31ish I will be using my real January wildcard and I’ll be keeping everyone up to date with every nuance and change of heart undertaken
So my transfer was Bale out and Walcott in. The transfer is nothing surprising given his position with the gunners. I probably would have preffered Mata at home to QPR but given the overall game time risk associated with my team it didn’t seem to make sense to take a risk with Mata who had played 5 premier league games in december as well as the capital one cup and the Club world championship.
Here’s my thinking
I have 5 players in my 14 man squad with major game time risk. Here they are:
1. Henderson – Loaned to Ipswich
2. Demel – Has been ill but Tomkins could have moved ahead of him
3. Robson – Kanu – a 15 minute sub at best
4. Gorkss – Not even in the squad
5. Caulker – Part of the ground breaking? AVB CB rotation policy
I also have Cazorla who I would like to move on and Johnson who is about to face a difficult run of fixtures.
Bale and Michu are keepers in my team so this decision gave the ability to get 1 more player out on the field in this game week
