My Barclays fantasy premier league wildcard team for gameweek 33 – draft 4.

Here’s my Barclays fantasy premier league wildcard team for gameweek 33 – draft 4.  Hopefully the final one. Believe it or not I have £1.4m in the bank.  Mainly reserved for Bale.

Substitute player Player information
de Gea £5.8m
STK (A), WHU (A)
A no brainer this.  The best defence at the moment and the only player apart from the over priced Evra guaranteed to play.  City beating Utd has increased the games before Utd win the title as well so the rotation risk is reduced.  Utd also have the best fixtures to the end of the season
Substitute player Player information
Sagna £4.6m
NOR (H), EVE (H)
£4.6m 6th best defence and 3rd best fixtures and a DGW with good historic attacking stats its a must have.  In my mind he has the edge with Wenger over Jenkinson.  Wenger will also want to re-sign him in the Summer and being rotated now may send the wrong message
Substitute player Player information
Demel £4.0m
SOU (A), MUN (H)
Not great DGW fixtures by any stretch but West Ham have that ability to get clean sheets despite being under the Kosh.  So a £4.0m defender for the 9th best overall defence with a DGW doesnt seem such a bad option
Substitute player Player information
Nastasic £5.3m
WIG (H)
Although utd have the best defensive stats at the moment City with Kompany are the best defensive team in my mind.  There is a rotation risk for the Wigan game but Kolarov playing instaed of Clichy for that game also spooked me so I went for Nastastic although he has rotation issues with KToure and Lescott.  Not an easy choice and watch this space
Substitute player Player information
Fellaini £7.4m
QPR (H), ARS (A)
The best Everton DGW  pick in my mind.  Still has those positional issues as can be switched to CDM and with Mirralas in such good form it could happen again but I keeping the faith.
Substitute player Player information
Walcott £8.7m
NOR (H), EVE (H)
Declared fit.  Still a risk that he could start on the bench with Gervinho in such good form but he’s such a strong impact player that this may not be the ned of the world.  Unlike Gervinho though he’s a keeper to the end of the year and I cant see any gametime issues as he is a crucial part of WEngers squad

Santi Cazorla  £9.7m (buy price £10.1m)
NOR (H), EVE (H)
With uncertainty all around in the Arsenal team, Cazorla stands out like a shining light.  A must have a prior to my captain article the obvious choice
Substitute player Player information
Diame £4.7m
SOU (A), MUN (H)
My cheap midfielder. West Ham have the 5th best fixtures to the end of the season and Diame has come to stand out by appearing in the last 3 shooting stats.  I had a closer look at the West Ham Liverpool game and what was noticeable was that him and Jarvis were by far the most advanced midfielders.   Diame centrally though and Jarvis on the flank.  Jarvis and Diame also had the most pen box touches and in the replay of the game it was noticeable that he wasn’t getting drawn in to defensive duties.   Therefore with me holding Michu he seemed the best way of getting DGW exposure but preserving a cheap midfielder for the bench for later fixtures

Van Persie  £13.3m (buy price £13.6m)
STK (A), WHU (A)
9th bet shooting stats over the last 6 gamewek (albeit with 5 games rather than 6) isnt great but 4th in the last 3 games gives some hope except when you see that 2 were Reading and Sunderland.  Over the last 6 gameweeks he has kept up his shots in te box per game ratio and his on target % so the only drop off is goals.  Overall for the season his shooting stats are 2nd only to Suarez and as you see he continues to replicate these.   As I said for Michu the goals will return.

Suarez £10.9m (buy price £11.2)
RDG (A)
The best striker on underlying and actual stats.  I just could not take him out when Liverpool are away to Reading as anything could happen.  Liverpool also continue to have reasonably good fixtures to the end of the season ranked 8th although Suarez really doesn’t need them.  He can score against anyone

Anichebe £4.3m
QPR (H), ARS (A)
Alot of debate went in to this.  Famous last words but I just wasn’t convinced on the case for Berba. I’m a big fan but I’m going for my heart as the guy is just so talented and total quality against cold hard facts that to me he is over performing his underlying stats and will drift off his run.  I dont blame anyone for having him though as Fulham do have good fixtures and he does have pen duties.  In addition the advantage of his star status is that he is a magnet for bonus points everytime he returns.  However, Anichebe also allows me to keep Michu in my team for his DGW36 and as a cheap striker provides lexibility between mifield and forwards for future games.  I was worried also that with Fellaini returning that he wouldn’t start 2 big men etc.  I looked back at the stats though for all the game Anichebe has started and Fellaini unless suspended has played in them all so that eased my selection worries.  Interestingly in all bar 1 game Fellaini still played in an adavnced position overall and ad acceptable pen box touches
Substitute player Player information
Robles £4.0m
MCI (A)
Cheap and purely for the DGW36 which will be handy as utd are away to Arsenal
Substitute player Player information
Clyne £4.2m
WHU (H)
Another huge area of debate.  I could have put Distin in my team and then used the funds for him to sell and then put Bale in after DGW36.  However that would have meant putting Demel on the bench as City home to Wigan seem a nailed on clean sheet.  However that would have provide cover in case Nastasic didnt play which is definitely possible as he will play on Sunday for sure.   This is the main area that I could end up changing

Michu £8.1m
Only Bale can even begin to compare to Michu when it comes to shooting stats at the moment.  The problem is that over the last 6 weeks his on target % has been on the floor at half his season average.  He’s a season keeper for me even with the most horrible of fixtures helped by the DGW
Substitute player Player information
Dawson  £4.4m
no game but £4.4m for a player who seems to have nailed a position in the 5th best defensive  team overall who will have another DGWat some point in the future seems to good to be true
Good luck for everyone  who has a Barclays fantasy premier league wildcard team for gameweek 33 and obviously everyone else
