My Telegraph fantasy football team game week 3 – enforced changes!

Telegraph fantasy football

Here’s my telegraph  fantasy football team for GW3.  There were 2  enforced changes with the transfer of VDV and the injury to Rooney plus an optional one with Ivanovic not playing mainly to generate funds.

I’ve now used 4 telegraph  fantasy football transfers.  Essentially I wanted to use 3 per month with 3 emergency transfers up my sleeve for injuries and FA cup games.  I’ve now used 1 of those emergency transfers.  I will be holding off any more transfers no matter what until October

Here’s the telegraph fantasy football team with the explanation of transfers:

I took a big gamble here.  I essentially took Ivanovic out to create funds for bale.  The bye week and the fixtures getting more difficult made Ivanovic the target rather than anyone else.  Ive wanted to only have defenders from the top 6 team here with the negative points for goals conceded.  I also don’t want to have to pay through the nose for the Rolls Royce options of Kompany, Vidic, Terry and Vermaelan etc.  So I’ve taken a risk.   He’s played both opening games and Kaboul is injured.  I did think of Rangel as Swansea have such strong fixtures but I wasn’t impressed with their defence against West Ham so I went for spurs who have good fixtures as well.  I’m not sure what the AVB effect on the defence is going to be but to me they seemed the better bet than Swansea

I bought him in for VDV as I think its essential to have Spurs coverage with Norwich H Reading A and QPR H.    With the uncertainty over Adebayor starting as well as Siggys game time and Dempsey not being available to play today Bale was the default option almost.  That sounds a weak argument but lets not forget only Dempsey performed better last year and his underlying stats are still strong and with these fixtures Bale can never be a poor choice.

With saints away and Wigan at home I wanted some Utd coverage and how do you ignore this man at whatever price.  I did think of Kagawa but the Rooney injury seems to give RVP alot of security

That’s it so good luck to everyone playing this week!
