EUROPA AND FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE POTENTIAL CONGESTION IN GAMEWEEK 1 FOR NEWCASTLE

Sky sports report that Newcastle will have to play as scheduled their 2nd  premier league game of the season away to Chelsea, of all places only 2 days after playing the 1st leg of their Europa qualifier on the preceding Thursday night.  The Daily Mail have subsequently reported that the tie can be moved if Newcastles opponents agree (although why they would remains a mystery?).  The draw isn’t made until 10 August.

MICHAEL LAUDRUP CONFIRMED NEW SWANSEA MANAGER – FANTASY FOOTBALL IMPLICATIONS

Michael Laudrup the 48 year old Danish footballing legend has signed a 2 year deal to become manager of  Swansea City.

Quoted in the Guardian Laudrup said:

“I’ve spoken to the chairman and I’m very pleased to sign for Swansea City. It’s going to be a new experience for me and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve spoken to many people about Swansea and watched a number of their games on DVD. Everyone knows the style of football Swansea play and it suits my way of thinking.”
