The schedule
The schedule ranks the teams by averaging their Goals against and their expected goals against. It is not adjusted for upcoming fixtures. From the free site understat
Player values and stats were as of Wednesday 16 March. The stats do not include Wednesdays and Thursdays games
Fixture ease ranks the ease of the fixtures in the next 6 gameweeks.
CS odds are the bookies odds for a clean sheet given a £1 bet
Pstpnd is the numbers of postponed games which could end up making a double gameweek for the team excluding any postponements already in DGW31 and DGW33. It assumes Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea win their FA Cup quarters and the effect of those assumptions are in brackets
xCS% is the % of games where the expected goals against has been less than 1.0
CSs is the number of clean sheets
DGW31 DGW33 means double gameweek 31 and 33. BGW33 means no fixture in GW33

Player suggestions for BGW30
In this article I’m going to focus solely on the teams with a fixture in the blank week of GW30
Use Joe’s Transfer Planner and Points Prediction Tool to maximise your Chips and FPL points over this period of Doubles and Blanks. In the Patreon version I will outline Joe’s best defender options for a GW30 Free Hit and for the weeks ahead.
Arsenal
On recent form I would say the best defensive side of the 8 teams with a fixture in GW30. They also have the advantage of a double fixture in GW33 which makes them a major attraction for this week if you’re not Free Hitting GW30.
The best 2 options are £5.1m GK Ramsdale (PPM 5.0) and the £5.1m attacking LB Tierney (PPM 5.0). There’s also the value option of £4.5m CB White (PPM 4.0) and set piece CB £5.3m Gabriel (PPM 4.7)
The fixture in GW30 is a tricky one against a Villa side improved by Coutinho but still only 15th ranked in xG per game. The overall fixtures in the next 6 are fairly mixed and the double GW33 unfortunately involves Chelsea.
Leicester
An atrocious defensive side which , like Arsenal, has a double in GW33 but Leicester’s is 2 good fixtures. The fixtures overall are also good.
Injuries and selection changes have meant it’s hard to pin down anyone you can rely on who will consistently start. At the moment that player is £4.9m CB Soyuncu (PPM 2.2) but even he could be under threat if Evans could get fit when Fofana is ready to play. At the moment he is the only realistic option and has little attacking potential.
If you want to roll the dice then the fixtures are very good and GW30 sees them play Brentford who are the 12th ranked side in xG per game. That maybe a little understated given Eriksens recent contribution to the attacking side of the game for Brentford and could cause a continuation of Leicester’s set piece woes.
The other option is the GK to at least get save points.
Wolves
They have been the best defensive side, with Arsenal, outside the top 3 teams although they had an atrocious 4 game wobble before clean sheets over the toothless Watford and Everton sides. So that casts some doubt over how good they really are but despite Spurs having better clean sheet odds for me this fixture represents the best chance of a clean sheet of the 8 teams.
The options are between the £5.3m GK Sa (4.5 PPM), and then the attacking option of £5.0m CB Saiss (PPM 3.9) or the cheaper £4.8m Coady (PPM 4.2).
Fantastic fixtures apart from a possible blank in GW33
Spurs
Another terrible defensive team up against a West Ham team without Bowen in GW30 and pretty good fixtures thereafter. Decent attacking options in £5.2m LWB Reguilon (PPM 4.2) although he could lose his place when Sessegnon is fit again but will be ok if you’re free hitting. £4.8m RWB (4.0 PPM)Doherty should hold his place after the defensive disasters of Emerson.
The safe option with little attacking potential is £4.6m CB Dier (PPM 3.5)
Aston Villa
A tough fixture against Arsenal limits the appeal as well as a likely blank in GW33. The fixtures are a bit mixed too.
With Digne injured the focus comes on to £5.2m Cash (PPM 4.2). £4.2m CB Chambers (PPM 3.4) has started 5 of the last 6 and gives a cheap option.
Leeds, West Ham and Brentford
Leeds I wouldn’t consider due to their defensive issues and a likely blank in GW33 even though the GW30 fixture is good v Wolves.
Brentford and West Ham both have bad fixtures in GW30 and I wouldn’t consider their defences at that entry point.
The Fixture Ease Schedule
Here’s the next 6 fixtures as ranked by the ease of the attacking teams they face
GK goals saved over expected goals saved per 90 from Fbref
In essence this shows the form shot stoppers so far this season. It compares the per 90 goals saved vs expected goals saved so is a variation on the save% table I normally give. I think you’ll find it quite interesting.
Postponed fixtures
These could end up as DGWs. Don’t include those in GW31 and GW33 or those assumed from the FA Cup quarter final winners
