The race to be the premier league’s top goalscorer in 2018/19

The English Premier League is already back, and fans are praying for goals from their favourite players. The 2018-2019 season has seen Sergio Aguero, Sadio Mane and Richarlison start the season at the goalscoring summit with 3 goals each.

In the previous season, Mohammed Salah took the league by storm after scoring 32 goals in his debut season for Liverpool. This halted English player Harry Kane’s desire for third consecutive win for the golden boot. A lot of fans are curious to see if Harry will return with a vengeance or Mo Salah will continue with his goal scoring streak. It aims to be a enthralling race for the top goalscoring title and and even with the distraction of looking for the right guide to casino games, you won’t want to miss out on what will be a fantastic premier league season.

The Top Players to Look Out For in the Top Goalscorer Race This Season

In this article, we are going to look at the top scorer predictions and who is most likely going to win the Golden Boot.

Harry Kane 11/4

The name Harry Kane has already become a household name with his premier league goalscoring feats but his fame rose to another level after he won the World Cup Golden Boot with six goals in six games. The 24-year-old became the second English to win the boot after ex-Tottenham player Gary Lineker in 1986.

In the previous season, Harry has played 59 games and scored a sensational of 52 games. This made him Europe’s top scorer for club and country. And for the first time since 2009, he won the award which was mostly coveted by Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

One thing about Kane that makes him stand out is his goal scoring consistency. Since breaking in 2014-2015 season, Kane has always increased the number of goals for each season as you can see below:-

* 2014-2015 season- 21 goals.

* 2015-2016 season -25 goals

* 2016-2017 season- 29 goals

* 2017-2018 season-30 goals.

Even though last season Mo Salah shone on his rising star last season, it is clear that Kane will continue to try and regain his premier league top goalscorer title.

Sergio Aguero 3/1

The Argentine last won the premier league top goalscorer award in 14/15 with 26 goals but has started this season with intent as we saw with his hat trick in gameweek 2 vs Huddersfield. His main challenge will probably be Pep Guardiolas rotation policy.

Pierre Emerick Aubemeyang 7/1

It is clear that the Gabon international player will challenge Harry Kane for the Golden Boot this season. This might not come as a surprise since the 29-year-old has already won the Bundesliga Golden boot in three seasons and this was while he played for Borrusia Dortmund.

When he arrived at the Emirates in January, he showcased a stunning start for his Arsenal career. Aubemeyang scored ten times in his first 14 matches.

Mo Salah 9/2

It’s impossible to believe that anyone, let alone Salah himself, can repeat the feats of last season’s 32 goals in the premier league. Although Kane scored 30 last season in his pursuit of Salah, the 30 goal barrier has not been breached since 13/14 when Luis Suarez set the premier league alight, also with Liverpool. If Salah does so it won’t be with the help of penalties as we saw James Milner score one vs Crystal Palace and Sadio Mane take penalties in pre-season.

Raheem Sterling 34/1

Over the past few seasons, Raheem has been improving his goalscoring and has enhanced his player status as one of the leagues top goalscoring midfielders. Last season under the guidance of Pep Guardiola he particularly improved his ability to get into goalscoring positions. He scored 18 goals in 33 premier league games.

He is now on the road to becoming one of the most dangerous attackers in the Premier League.
