Rob Reid with his fantasy premier league GW15 player picks

Hi everyone and welcome to Gameweek 15 Player Picks.

You may recall that last season I ran a weekly article where I selected an Ace, Banker and Joker pick each week. This season I’ve slightly changed the format but I’ll be making my picks along similar lines. The Ace will be a form player who I would heavily favour for captain this week. The Banker is a fixture pick and has an eye to the next few gameweeks. The Joker will be a differential pick where the only condition is that they must have less than 10% ownership.

I’ll be keeping an eye on how each player performs each week. After the success of GW1 & 2s Bankers, I’ve decided to go back on my original plan and I’ll now be following the Banker pick for 4 weeks again, like I did last season. I’ll also be running a weekly average on how well the selections perform each week. Finally, there will be Guest Picks again from time to time and I’ll be running some Twitter Polls throughout the season where Fantasy Football Geek readers and Twitter followers will be able to vote on who we’re going to pick in each category – keep an eye out for these as the season goes on and feel free to vote!

Here goes – wish me luck!

Gameweek 15 Picks

Banker – Lukasz Fabianski (WHM 4.5m) – CAR

West Ham rank highly in the Fixture Ease Schedule for the next few weeks and Cardiff’s visit to The London Stadium is the first of 3 home games in the next 4 against teams struggling at the bottom of the table. The Hammers posted a welcome clean sheet in GW14 and this week’s visitors have only scored two away league goals so far this season. The Polish stopper is always good for some save points and looks the pick of budget goalkeepers over the next few weeks as his team look to continue their rise up the table and away from the danger zone.

Ace (as voted by the Fantasy Football Geek Twitter Community) – Harry Kane (TOT 12.4m) – SOU

It’s been a somewhat low-key start to the FPL season for the England Captain, but he’s still managed 8 goals and 2 assists to rank 4th for FPL points in the striker bracket. Spurs fixtures take a decisive turn now, with Man United the only Big 6 team they face before GW28. Combine this with his relative gametime security, and it’s no surprise that he’s a popular transfer in for the next few weeks. Add to this his GW15 fixture against a manager-less Saints team and it’s no wonder that with 50% of the votes that he won this week’s Ace poll. Many thanks to the 533 of you who voted!

Joker – Lucas Digne (EVE 4.9m) – NEW

Everton could count themselves pretty unlucky not to walk away from Anfield with something on Sunday and I was impressed with their organisation and work ethic. They may have only kept 4 clean sheets so far this season, but I suspect that now their line-up has started to settle that we’ll see plenty more. It also wouldn’t surprise me if they pick up the next of these against shot-shy Newcastle on Wednesday and 3% owned Digne should be a big part of this. Not only does he look solid defensively, I think he’s got a good chance of adding to his one attacking return over the next few weeks; definitely one to watch.

That’s all from me this week folks and good luck!
