Rob Reid with his fantasy premier league GW30 player picks

Hi everyone and welcome to Gameweek 30 Player Picks.

You may recall that last season I ran a weekly article where I selected an Ace, Banker and Joker pick each week. This season I’ve slightly changed the format but I’ll be making my picks along similar lines. The Ace will be a form player who I would heavily favour for captain this week. The Banker is a fixture pick and has an eye to the next few gameweeks. The Joker will be a differential pick where the only condition is that they must have less than 10% ownership.

I’ll be keeping an eye on how each player performs each week. After the success of GW1 & 2s Bankers, I’ve decided to go back on my original plan and I’ll now be following the Banker pick for 4 weeks again, like I did last season. I’ll also be running a weekly average on how well the selections perform each week. Finally, there will be Guest Picks again from time to time and I’ll be running some Twitter Polls throughout the season where Fantasy Football Geek readers and Twitter followers will be able to vote on who we’re going to pick in each category – keep an eye out for these as the season goes on and feel free to vote!

Here goes – wish me luck!

Gameweek 30 Picks

Banker – Mo Salah (LIV £13.4m) – BUR

Despite a series of blank returns over the last few weeks, it will be a brave FPL manager that doesn’t carry Salah across the troublesome next 4 fixtures. Yes, there are no double gameweeks for The Reds, but they have matches in both blank weeks and lead into this run with a nice home fixture versus Burnley. Mo’s radar may be a little off at the moment, but he’s getting the chances and I suspect that as soon as one hits the net then the floodgates will open. Will it be against The Clarets this week?

Ace – Sergio Aguero (MCI £11.8m) – WAT

A player who has been banging in the goals at home for the league leaders off the back of a rare rest week? I’ll have me some of that thank you very much! With 8 goals in his last 4 home starts including 2 hat-tricks, you’ve got to fancy Kun to go big against a Watford side that shipped 5 at Anfield the other week. Add to this the fact the City will be keen to keep their momentum going and bolster their goal difference. Armband anyone?

Joker – Michy Batshuayi (CRY £6.5m) – BRI

The young Belgian striker has had a solid start to his spell at The Eagles, with 2 goals in 3 starts to add to an assist on his Palace debut off the bench. Visitors Brighton will have been pleased to scrape a win against Huddersfield in GW28, but will still be nervously looking over their shoulder at the teams below. This fixture is a definite 6 pointer, and you have to fancy the home side with The Seagulls traditional strugglers on the road. At only 1.5% ownership, Batshuayi could certainly make a nice differential.

That’s all from me this week on Player Picks, best of luck for this week everyone!
