Hi everyone and welcome to Gameweek 13 Player Picks.
You may recall that last season I ran a weekly article where I selected an Ace, Banker and Joker pick each week. This season I’ve slightly changed the format but I’ll be making my picks along similar lines. The Ace will be a form player who I would heavily favour for captain this week. The Banker is a fixture pick and has an eye to the next few gameweeks. The Joker will be a differential pick where the only condition is that they must have less than 10% ownership.
I’ll be keeping an eye on how each player performs each week. After the success of GW1 & 2s Bankers, I’ve decided to go back on my original plan and I’ll now be following the Banker pick for 4 weeks again, like I did last season. I’ll also be running a weekly average on how well the selections perform each week. Finally, there will be Guest Picks again from time to time and I’ll be running some Twitter Polls throughout the season where Fantasy Football Geek readers and Twitter followers will be able to vote on who we’re going to pick in each category – keep an eye out for these as the season goes on and feel free to vote!
Here goes – wish me luck!

Gameweek 13 Picks
Apologies there was no Twitter Poll this week – I was too busy earlier this week to post one. Normal service will be resumed in GW14!
Banker – Anthony Martial (MAN £7.6M) – CRY
Manchester United begin a fantastic run of fixtures this week, which sees them face only 3 of the other Big 6 teams in the next 13 matches. It therefore looks prudent to invest in their assets and Martial is undoubtedly their form player with 6 goals and an assist in his last 5 games. Opponents Palace have been on a poor run of late, and with key centre half Salvo a doubt, I think they’ll struggle to contain the Frenchman at Old Trafford this weekend.
Ace – Richarlison (EVE £7.0M) – CAR
It’s a plum home fixture for The Toffees which should provide rich pickings for the Brazilian who continues to play as an out of position striker. Visitors Cardiff have conceded 16 goals in 5 away fixtures this season and I suspect they will struggle again at Goodison. The international window shouldn’t have too many effects on Richarlison’s energy levels, he came on as a sub in both Brazil’s games, both of which were played in the UK. I therefore think he’s a good bet to go big this week!
Joker – Andre Schurrle (FUL £5.9M) – SOU
The 4.9% owned German looks a good differential pick for GW13 with Fulham looking to ride the crest of the positive wave that will no doubt be generated by Claudio Ranieri’s recent appointment. They’ve got a nice fixture first up facing fellow strugglers Southampton and I think Schurrle has a great chance of adding to his tally of 4 goals this season. The Saints attack is also incredibly goal-shy, so if you’re going to bet on a first Fulham clean sheet if this season this is probably the time. I’m not quite brave enough to do that for this week’s Joker, but I wouldn’t be surprised if The Cottagers pick up a much needed win.
That’s all from me this week folks and good luck!
