Not a bad start. 66 points puts me 8,885th overall and 2,667th in the starting xi (more accurate representation this early on with the high numbers of manager of the week/month attempts). Looking at public view teams who did better, it was mostly an extra clean sheet from the goalkeeper and Richarlison making the difference.

Defensively Van Aanholt, Robertson and Mendy delivered double digits and demonstrated the value of attacking defenders. De Gea was unlucky not to get a clean sheet with Vardy’s goal in the 93rd minute but no doubt he will earn a decent number through the season.

Mane was a great pick and Salah did what Salah does. Jota blanked however looked dangerous so not concerned yet. Sanchez was the big disappointment. He was so poor although could have had an KC had Lukaku not missed what seems an easy chance. His shot also led to the first goal but this wasn’t classed as a KC. His price does give me options if he continues to disappoint so again I’m not too concerned.

Aguero blanked after fluffing a 1-1 when KDB was there for the easiest of assist opportunities. City now have an incredible run of fixtures playing the 6 most recent promoted teams in the next 6 so he’s going nowhere for now. Mahrez was on set pieces in De Bruyne’s absence and looked dangerous but was subbed around 60 minutes.

Annoying I was on Richarlison for so long but swapped for Jota and upgraded my keeper but its only 1 week and he did score with his only 2 shots so no need to be rash bringing him in.

No plans for any transfers. A number of players who looked good that I have my eye on though.

Stephen finished last season with a rank of 52k OR

GW1 points: 85 (average 53) Total points 85, Gameweek rank 138k, Overall Rank: 138k, no arrow obviously, Team Value: £100.3m

Fairly solid start and here I did have Richarlison however I opted for Firminho over Mane as I liked the cheaper midfield options compared to a second cheap striker and makes it easier to upgrade to Aubameyang/Kane without wildcarding. Costa over Neves cost me this week, but I just don’t see Neves consistently returning given how deep he plays and how almost all of his shots are outside the box.

No transfers planned for this week as Richarlison appears to be training again so his knock couldn’t be serious. Wann Bissaka on the bench but this is good in the sense I can downgrade Van Aanholt down the line and use him instead which would generate some funds for when I want Kane.

This week my plan at the moment is to captain Aguero although I haven’t ruled out a change to Salah.  The bench will be Foster, Doherty, Wann Bissaka and Hudson-Odoi

Gameweek points 58, Overall rank 84k  monthly transfers used 0/3

58 points is again an ok start. I put in Otamendi as a City defensive double up but he didn’t play which was disappointing. I was out so didn’t have chance to replace him but if he fails to start again I’ll have to consider changing. Hopefully Mahrez and Aguero will repay me over the next few weeks and I wasn’t expecting big things from Aubameyang this first week. Eriksen historically has been so reliable for rating points and assists that I’m sure he will improve. He was probably Spurs best player this weekend.

So only likely transfer will be Otamendi if he doesn’t start this weekend.  Helpfully City play first on Sunday.
