Sun Dream Team tips – FFGeek Sun pundit Simon Rowley talks through his 2nd draft
With the season only 1 week away, here’s my second draft team, and as you can see, its quite different from my first one.
To start with, I’ve switched to 3-4-3, as Arnautovic’s preseason form made him impossible to ignore.
Goalkeeper
A change from my usual approach of a cheap keeper, so Ederson comes in. He’s the safe option to get City defender in, and rarely gets rotated. My original choice of Pope was changed to Heaton after his shoulder injury, but with Burnley reportedly after Hart (how many England keepers do they need!), I’ve decided to take a different approach.
Defence
I’ve gone for the 3 best defensive teams here, Robertson of Liverpool for his attacking ability; Sanchez of Spurs as the full backs will probably rotate throughout the season; and Bailly as the best, fit, Utd defender available atm. I could swap him to Smalling or Valencia at a later date though.
Midfield
Big changes here! Mahrez comes in for Sane, he’s cheaper and, assuming he’s fully fit, looks a safer bet to start the season (especially if Mendy does play, as Sane didn’t start when Mendy played last season). Pedro comes in for Willian, his preseason form has been excellent so far, and he could be the biggest bargain ever in dream team, if he cements a regular starting spot. Zaha stays, but will still probably change to Lingard, once he’s playing full time. Arnie, listed as a midfielder, but playing up front, and in impressive form, means its a no brainer to have him.
Forwards
No change here, with Kane still to come in for Aguero at some point. I’ll still have some money in the bank as well, just in case.
Transfer window
In case you don’t know, this has changed this year. It now closes before the season starts, but only for English clubs buying players, they can still sell players to foreign clubs until the end of August. So, for example, Courtois and Willian could start the season at Chelsea, but could still go to Real before the end of August, but Chelsea wouldn’t then be able to buy replacements.
My final team
