Making my first transfers of this season and before Friday due to the price hikes .

So with Sadio Mane hitting the ground running immediately I need him in asap, only having 0.5 in funds unfortunately means I need to make the 2 transfers to achieve it .

So reluctantly I have to lose Jamie Vardy who I rate highly and he will probably punish me now with some goals , Marcus Rashford isn’t a bad replacement tho and at 0.9 cheaper and with some nice looking fixtures upcoming could well be a sound investment.

My second transfer is Mane in for Trent Arnold , again didn’t really want to lose Trent but needs must and with Ppol’s defence not currently as watertight as last season I can see Mane outscoring Trent in the coming weeks , this move means my formation is now 3-4-3.

Funds left after transfers- 0.5m.

Good luck all with your transfers.

Lee Giles

Lee finished an incredible 79th overall in Sun Dream Team in his first attempt last season

Overall rank 159k GW2 points 33.

A very disappointing week; Alexander-Arnold and Zinchenko both picked up -1 points. Robertson got 3 points as did Patricio thanks to his penalty save from Pogba on Monday evening. My second highest point scorer of the week was Digne who managed 10 points thanks to a clean sheet and assist. Into midfield, Sterling picked up another goal thanks to the brilliant De Bruyne who helped himself to 2 assists and 12 points.

The main problem in my team this week was Barkley failing to get on the pitch; I now think he needs to move on and possibly be replaced by Mason Mount who looks nailed down to the number 10 position (and coming in a handy 0.5m cheaper). It was a disaster up front with Salah, Kane and Jota all failing to pick up any points. My other team is sat in 41st position overall thanks to an all Everton back line; I should of backed my judgment with the Everton defence as they impressed towards the end of last season as well as pre season and I liked the early fixtures this season.

Game Week 2

One of the weeks to forget about really with a poor score of 23 points. Not much to shout about so I will keep the game week review short. So last week I did the goalkeeper move from the injured Alisson to Ederson. I never thought my first transfer of the season would involve a goalkeeper. I did consider Adrian at 1.5m but decided to stick with a keeper that will last me to the end of the season or hopefully can rotate between Alisson and Ederson as the season progresses and dependent on fixture runs. So not a great start from my new signing with -1 point as Spurs scored from two shots they had at the Man City goal. So the city defence looks good and hopefully get some clean sheets soon.

Next to the defence, Zinchenko got -1 point as well. Watching the game on TV, I thought he played ok and he had a good shot at goal which the keeper did well to save so that was encouraging. Moving on to my two Liverpool defenders, it seems like TAA had a poor game and picked up a booking so -1 points from him and Gomez did not feature at all which is a concern.

The midfield did a decent job with the City pair of Sterling and B.Silva contributing 10 points to the team’s cause. Few doubts about B.Silva after he didn’t start the previous game but I believe B.Silva will play many games despite competition with Mahrez so happy to keep B. Silva for the time being. Next, I was disappointed with Pulisic’s performance over the weekend. He didn’t have any shots at all. He may take time to adjust to the team but looking to move him on. Finally, pleased to see Harry Wilson score and gain a much needed 8 points this week. I had heard great things about him in pre season – how is a good finisher and good at taking long range shots. So after the research done, I was not surprised to see him score from a long range effort. He was one of the contenders for star man so plenty of promise there for the future.

Up front, no points from star strikers Salah and Kane. Hopefully they can score big over the weekend especially Kane as Spurs meet Newcastle. Martial scored another goal and once again looked set to be star man. However, it wasn’t meant to be with Moutinho nicking some time after the final whistle. It starting to be a running joke now. Indeed, it’s no fun being a Martial owner.

So the team ended game week two with 23 points and a total of 98 points with an overall position rank of 392,593. So a drop of 118,404 places = a red arrow. Not good but no need to panic yet, I am quite confident that this team will shoot up the rankings. To help achieve this, I am likely to utilise my two remaining August transfers in game week 3.

GW3

After much thought, I have decided to go defensive: out goes Pulisic and Gomez and in comes Walker and Emerson so switching formation from 343 to 433. I have gone for Walker for tactical reasons as I already have Ederson and Zinchenko so it makes sense to me to add another Man City defensive asset considering how good the team is and their fixtures for September are in their favour. The only downside is that Man City signed right back Cancelo before the transfer window closed so possible rotation there. John Stones would have been my first choice but is injured. Chelsea have got good fixtures ahead and I think Emerson has been one of Chelsea’s best players so far. He is very attacking like Alonso but his defensive contribution gives him the edge and that is why he is in Lampard’s first team plans.

These transfers leave 0.1m in the bank which is a problem as it limits flexibility going forward but I think these are the right moves for my team. If I see evidence of Chelsea’s defence improving, I may look at replacing Walker (he may a short term or long term move depending on how he performs) or TAA and bring in Azpilicueta to raise funds now that Zappacosta has left the club and he has a proven dream team record.

Good luck to me and everyone else for game week 3. See you next week.

Bryan O’Rourke

This is Bryan’s first season at Sun Dream team but he has a fantastic history in TFF finishing 37th last season and 7th in 17/18

Overall rank 254k, total points 108

108 points overall which places the team at 254K overall.

A tad disappointing that Barkley at Chelsea isn’t getting much time on the pitch after a good pre season. So I have made a transfer by replacing him with Fornals at West Ham. Just a punt as West Ham have some nice fixtures and he fits the budget. No doubt Barkley will score well from this week onward.

Other than that the team is in good shape with 2 transfers left for any injury or suspension. Good luck
