 Lee Giles

Lee finished an incredible 79th overall in Sun Dream Team in his first attempt last season

GW points 85 Total points 860 Overall rank 74k

The points were shared around much more this week with 5 players hitting double digits,Alexander-Arnold,Sterling,De Bruyne,Mané and Abraham all scoring well. Looking ahead to December I’m reluctant to use my 3 transfers early in the month with so many games over the Xmas period,Hudson-Odoi is the player I’m tempted to move out due to lack of game although I may hold on if there is any news on the injury to Abraham who came off with a knock midweek,if Abraham is ok I have the funds to move Hudson-Odoi to Dele Alli, good luck for the game week

Red Rum

Red Rum has finished the last 3 seasons in Sun Dream team in 5k, 750th, 250th

GW12 points 68, total points 885, overall rank 38k,

Hello once again my fellow fantasy football managers. This week my team gained a total of 68 points despite there being midweek games. The player scores are in the picture below.

So before I go into the team review, I used my final November transfer to take out Mahrez for Maddison. I chose Maddison as think he is a good player, takes free kicks and corners (he might take all of Leicester’s corners) so possesses good assist potential also is good at taking long shots. Plus Maddison is in good form and I did like the look of Leicester’s short term fixtures this week with Everton and Watford at home in game week 14.

GW14 review

So onto the team, Ederson disappoints with -1 point, it has been a long time since City kept a clean sheet. Next, Tomori does not pick up any points as Chelsea lose unexpectedly to West Ham and then he does not play in the second game vs Villa. Liverpool have it tough with Brighton giving them a tough game whilst Everton did score two so -1 point for Robertson but TAA has set pieces in his locker and gets three assists this week.

In midfield, Mane is the star with a goal and two assists with a star man award in the Merseyside Derby. Sterling scored at the weekend but a slight dip in his performances I feel but was given close attention in this week’s away games. Looking at the WhoScored stats, Pulisic had 10 shots at goal in the two games but only 1 on target. Also I read that Lampard wants to put him in a striker role: “He’s got an ability to run behind the line and to be sharp in central areas, which will naturally get him more goals.”

Finally, up front Kane and Salah both had a tough time with no goals and Salah missing the Everton game is a worry. On the other hand, I stuck with Abraham knowing he will miss the West Ham game but was hopeful he will play vs Villa as he performs well vs other promoted teams as he scored goals vs Norwich and Sheffield United earlier in the season. So good attacking return with goal, assist and star man award. Another quote from Lampard: “He’s hungry for goals”. Music to my ears as I am hungry for dream team points.

Team Status

The team has a total of 885 points and an overall position of 38k . So a big drop of 19k places = a red arrow. Three December transfers now available to use and I might use them in one go – details below. The team has a value of 53.4 with 0.6m in the bank.

Transfers

With three new transfers in hand, I am currently thinking of using them in one go. I am thinking of Ederson out for Schmeichel, Tomori out for Van Dijk and lastly Maddison for Alli.

Ederson is a goalkeeper I like to keep but his recent lack of points is a concern. He hasn’t been helped by a ever changing Man City defence that lacks confidence and concentration especially when Otamendi is playing. It’s been a while since City kept a clean sheet. On the other hand, Schmeichel has played with a settled defence in front of him. He also benefits from having one of the best defensive midfielders in Ndidi protecting the defence with a high percentage of tackles, blocks and interceptions. Plus Tielemans and Maddison play in the central midfield and offer help in the defensive areas. Leicester’s fixtures are good for a long while yet so it would be a good term investment.

Next, the lack of Tomori minutes for Chelsea is a concern with rotation happening with Christensen. Chelsea is another team with an unsettled defence with Lampard trying to find solutions for left back as Alonso, Emerson and Azpilicueta recently playing there. Attack wise I am more than happy with Pulisic and Abraham in my team but not sure if I want any of their defensive assets. So I am looking at Van Dijk who doesn’t need any introduction and showed at the weekend with two goals from corners what a dangerous asset he can be.

Finally, I am thinking of taking out Maddison for Dele Alli. I know Maddison is a new recruit but I think I made a mistake when going for Maddison for Mahrez replacement when I made of three player shortlist which had Alli as a close second choice with Ricardo Pereria as third. I think I got sucked into Leicester’s home games in game week 14. I did plan for the Maddison to Alli move later on December as Leicester are still in the league cup but Alli’s form right now and his role in the advanced attacking areas as a playmaker/ shadow striker makes him dangerous not to own coupled with the fact he is a strong finisher and has scored 20 goals in a season. So as he is 5 goals right now, he has the potential to score 15 more goals till the end of the season. So going into December my team will be: Schmeichel, TAA, Robertson, Van Dijk, Mane, Sterling, Alli, Pulisic, Salah, Kane and Abraham. All I want for Christmas is lots of dream team points and no injuries please.

Here’s my last week points:

SUN DREAM TEAM TIPS gw15

Tom Grogan

Tom finished an incredible 34th in Sun Dream Team last season

GW13 pts: 80 total points 852 overall rank 89k

This week I managed to score 80 points, which i think is about par. Considering i was playing with 10 as Sergio Aguero is injured on a double game week i will take it.

So, roll on December. I have already actioned all 3 of my transfers. I am switching back from a 4-3-3 to a 3-4-3. Jonny, Aguero and Auba are out. De Bruyne, Vardy and Rashford are in. To be honest i wish i had a couple more to perfect the shoddy backline and get someone if for Mount. But I guess you can’t have it all.

Jonny to De Bruyne. This transfer kind of speaks for itself. Wolves have some really tough fixtures coming up. With them playing Spurs, Liverpool and City all in December. De Bruyne is one of the only guaranteed names on the team sheet and carries a real goal scoring threat from midfield.

Aguero to Vardy. Simply put, Aguero does not play enough games this season. Whether it be the dreaded “Pep Rotation” or injury. Aguero simply does not play enough. He has still put up a colossal amount of points but for his price he no longer merits value for money. Vardy on the other hand is in incredible form. 7 games in a row he has found the back of the net and moving forward he is a bit of a no brainer.

Auba to Rashford. Until a new manager comes in and i can see signs of life, no Arsenal players will be in my team. They are quite simply terrible. They all called for Arsene Wenger’s head and look what they have got. Before they were a joy to watch going forward with a weak backline that made mistakes but still had some good players back there E.g Koscielny. But now, they are terrible going forward, terrible in midfield and horrendous at the back. All their centre backs are players who can’t defend. Which is not ideal when its your job to keep the ball out of the net. Luiz, Sokrites, Mustafi. Shocking. Rashford seems to play every minute of every game hence why i have included him. It was a toss up between him and Abraham and Rashford just sneaked it due to Abraham’s injury problems and high volume of games in December which i can see Giroud or Michy filling in for a couple.

Anyway, good luck for December. May the fantasy football gods shine on you always..

Bryan O’Rourke

This is Bryan’s first season at Sun Dream team but he has a fantastic history in TFF finishing 37th last season and 7th in 17/18

72 points scored for the week and placed 79.8k overall.

72 points scored and placed 79861 overall, an unspectacular week mirroring the season as a whole.

Sadio Mane was the top scorer for the team with his stellar mid week performance in the derby match. Still hoping to catch a glimpse of the lesser spotted Liverpool clean sheet, we may have a new government and a new year before that happens.

The final transfer for the month has been made with Kane out for Abraham. It was going to be Aubameyang out but with Kane playing so deep in midweek, I’d rather keep the Arsenal forward. This transfer will leave a whopping 5.8 million in the bank. That will come in handy to upgrade Mount to a city midfielder, with some left to possibly replace Tomori or James later in the month.
