Gw8 – 39pts :  Total – 502pts :  Overall Rank- 12.5k :

Hello all and thanks for looking in , isn’t it great to have proper football back this weekend.

GW8 :

So a relatively low scoring week across the board , however the 39 I managed to get ,largely down to messrs Mane (15) and Tammy (13) ended up being ok as it propelled me another 5k places in the right direction so happy with that .

GW9 :

Onto this weekend where it’s possible that I could be using up my 3rd and final October transfer. If Mendy is absent from the City squad on Saturday afternoon then it’s highly likely I will replace him with the returning Joel Matip . So it’s a case of wait and see with that one .

Overall I’m really happy with how the team looks now and hopeful of breaking into the top 10k this game week.

Should be lots of points up for grabs as European football returns in midweek.

Best of luck everyone this week and here’s hoping for a successful gw 9.

Lee finished an incredible 79th overall in Sun Dream Team in his first attempt last season

They say what goes up must come down and that was the case in gameweek 8!

After a good couple of weeks thanks to my Man City heavy team, it came crashing down to earth with there 2-0 defeat at home to Wolves.  All 6 Man City players scored a combined points total of -1 with the unlikely hero of the week being Rui Patricio on 8 points.

3 points a piece from Trent Alexander Arnold and Mo Salah added 6 points to give me a grand total of 13 points.

After a much needed 2 week break thanks to the internationals I’m now ready to go again,  I’m looking at transferring out Aguero for Kane this week,  I’m slightly worried that Jesus is starting to get more minutes but 2 home fixtures for Kane against Watford and Crvena Zvezda look very appealing.

After a two week break, we are back to fantasy football once again. It’s been a long time that I forgotten what my team looks like. To let’s go back in time and reflect on what happened in game week 8.

Sun Dream Team tips GW9

So game week 8 was a total disaster with 15 points. I was badly let down by Man City having 6 of their players as they fell to an unexpected home defeat to Wolves. Only positive is that Abraham continued his fine run of form with a goal and star man award. It was such a poor game week that I don’t really want to reflect back on much and just think about the future.

Team Status

The team has a total of 479 points and an overall position of 43k. So a big drop rise of 26k places = a red arrow. I believe this team still has potential even I had a miserable game week but there a few things I would like to iron out. I have used all of my October transfers (more details below) and the team has a value of 52.0m with 0.7m in the bank.

Transfers

I used my first October transfer during game week 8 where I removed H. Wilson for Chelsea defender Tomori. I decided to let Wilson go as his recent performances had dipped with 6 blanks in 7 games and he was no longer on corner taking duty (Rico came into the team) and also Wilson’s point scoring opportunities were reduced when Bournemouth exited the league cup. So I was on the look out for a replacement but below 1.8m.

Tomori seems to be a first choice regular and will hopefully be paired with the experienced Rudiger. Also Tomori has already shown in a small number of games that he has goal threat (long distance strike vs Wolves) and assist potential (as seen in champions league). Chelsea have European games and are still in the league cup so Tomori has good point scoring opportunities. Also, I have noticed that Chelsea have kept only one clean sheet so far but I have looked closely at the underlying statistics and found they are doing in preventing shots at their goal. It seems that they are just unlucky in that they concede goals from relatively few chances given away so I do expect to see improvement with their upcoming games vs Newcastle (H), Burnley (A), Watford (A) and Palace (H).

During the international break, I used my remaining two transfers purely because to take advantage of the price changes as the players I want to bring were going to increase and my departing players were on the way down value wise (and maybe troubled by rotation, form or other non field issues).

The second change of the month is Walker traded for Mount. The Man City defensive block experiment didn’t work out. Losing Laporte is a big blow with City looking shaky at the back. Walker has also been rotated with Cancelo. I have put in the wonder kid Mount. He is in good form with 4 goals in 10 games and at 2.1m that is a great price for a goal scoring midfielder. Lampard has great faith in the young players and I feel I should do the same with the spine of my team being Chelsea with Tomori, Mount and Abraham. My strategy is to hopefully keep these players together long term and then use transfers to rotate the other players around them.

Finally the next move was B. Silva traded for Mane. I was lucky to grab the Silva hat trick vs Watford as I never saw Silva as an explosive player whereas Mane has shown to add more consistency to his performances. I already have Sterling and Mahrez as my city midfielders so I didn’t see the need to add another city midfielder (other than De Bruyne). Mane’s price is the up and at 6.5m it seems a reasonable price to pay for a player who could once again score 20 goals a season.

September Form Guide

Finally, as a treat to all fantasy football geek readers, I have jotted down the 10 ten players for each position (only including top 5 goalkeepers m) that were the highest point scorers for game weeks 5-7.  Hopefully the stats can provide assistance for people making transfer decisions.

Good luck to me and everyone for game week 9. See you next week.

Tom Grogan

Tom finished an incredible 34th in Sun Dream Team last season

So. International break. Like, loathe it or just accept it. Whatever the case it was much needed for me. Some temporary respite from the shocking numbers my team has put up over the last few weeks. Unfortunately this co-incides with my postings on Fantasy Football Geek. Make of that what you will! So as you can see I only managed a measly 18 points. Aubameyang fired a blank against Bournemouth at home, Son fired a blank at Brighton away and Aguero fired a blank at home to wolves. Same can be said for Sterling and Mahrez. Pair with the fact that none of my back 4 kept a clean sheet in favourable match ups it led to a horrendous week.

I made 3 transfers for the game week as well. I took out Maguire, Adrian and De Bruyne and put in Ederson, Tuanzebe and Mahrez. None of them paid off. Luckily only 3 games left of this month before the team can be changed again. I the only thing I can say is the only way is up…..

Bryan O’Rourke

This is Bryan’s first season at Sun Dream team but he has a fantastic history in TFF finishing 37th last season and 7th in 17/18

GW8 points 11, total points 451, Overall rank 121k

Well, a very low scoring week, 11 points only and a slip to 121575 place overall.

I have made my first 2 transfers of the month by swapping Salah and Pepe for Mane and Vardy. It’s hard to ignore the stats which suggest Mane should score as well if not better than Salah. As for Vardy, he is Mr Consistency, just a great striker with some tasty fixtures in the short term. Pepe looks like he will need some time to find his feet in the Premiership. Watch him bag a brace now I have given him a rest.

So 1 transfer in hand, the team looks good on paper hopefully it now performs on the grass. Best to your team and good luck.
