Telegraph fantasy football tips – 10 forwards for your TFF team

Here’s 10 strikers at varying prices for your TFF team.  At this stage it’s too early to be thinking of the FA Cup and it’s a case of looking for the best forwards with the best fixtures.  We use last years stats and fixtures as a way of ranking the prospects

We’ve included stats from last season for those players who were in the premier league.

I’ve left out a number of players that are either a gametime doubt due to selection or injury. Injury includes Sturridge, Defoe, Lukaku and Sakho. Gametime risk or not fit for GW1 includes Giroud, Rashford, Batshuayi, Janssen, Musa, Llorente and Carroll,

Aguero £7.0m

Games 15/16 (sub):  30 (1)  Goals/KC:  25/7    Points per game:  6.6

The Manchester City forward should be the first name on your team sheet irrespective of the price.  Good fixtures to start and with a wealth of creative talent behind him plus penalties mean you should expect him to be the top scorer in the premier league unless injuries prevent it.  Guardiola will continue Pellegrini’s attacking emphasis.  Aguero is likely to be the focus of the attack as opposed to Pellegrini who liked him to share forward duties with another striker.  Owned by 50% of TFF managers so ignore him at your peril as your league rivals probably will have him.

Sunderland (H)
Stoke (A)
West Ham (H)
Man Utd (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Swansea (A)

Ibrahimovic £6.6m

The Manchester United striker comes to the premier league on the back of a 50 goal and 19 assist record in the French League last season with PSG.  Despite his undoubted pedigree he had a poor Euro’s and looked fairly static in the Community Shield despite the goal.  Manchester United though have some good fixtures to start with and a more direct attacking approach from Mourinho should see a decent number of chances fall to Ibrahimovic.

Bournemouth (A)
Southampton (H)
Hull (A)
Man City (H)
Watford (A)
Leicester (H)

Kane £6.8m

Games 15/16 (sub):  40 (2)  Goals/KC:  26/10    Points per game:  5.6

If the last couple of seasons are anything to go by then Kane and Aguero will be fighting it out for the Golden Boot.  It was a poor Euros for Kane but even though he’s had a limited pre-season he’s been among the goals.  Good fixtures again to start and with a settled improving young team he looks a good bet to keep rattling in the goals.  Also has the benefit of penalties and an able new deputy in Janssen to take some of the weight off him to minimise fatigue

Everton (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (H)
Stoke (A)
Sunderland (H)
Middlesbrough (A)

Vardy £6.3m

 Games 15/16 (sub):  36 (1)  Goals/KC:  24/10    Points per game:  5.6

Last seasons striking sensation for Leicester had amazing consistency last season scoring or assisting in 80% of games.  Fixtures could be easier to start with though and the expectation to repeat will undoubtedly weigh heavy.  Then there’s the additional Champions League games although these aren’t an issue yet

Hull (A)
Arsenal (H)
Swansea (H)
Liverpool (A)
Burnley (H)
Man Utd (A)

Costa £6.7m

 Games 15/16 (sub):  31 (1)  Goals/KC:  14/10    Points per game:  4.8

Last season was nothing short of a disaster for the Chelsea striker.  The pre-season should have been a chance to put last season behind him with a rest after being left out of the Euros.  However transfer speculation has made it rather disjointed and testy.  However this was a 20 goal striker in the previous season and with some good fixtures he could be an excellent starter.

West Ham (H)
Watford (A)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
Liverpool (H)
Arsenal (A)

Negredo £4.9m

It’s been a difficult couple of years for Negredo since leaving Manchester City.  Last year with Valencia was pretty mixed with a number of sub appearances in his 40 games for 12 goals and 3 assists.  Does have premier league experience and had a decent record with Man City so can do peoduce.  However Middlesborough while they have good fixtures to start aren’t an attacking team by nature and Negredo may lose minutes to striker Jordan Rhodes

Stoke (H)
Sunderland (A)
West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Everton (A)
Spurs (H)

Gray £4.5m

The Burnley forward is this years pre-season sensation with 9 goals.  This doesn’t always correlate to a successful season proper though.  However the Championship has seen successes and the gap seems to be bridged more often than in the past.   25 goals and 10 assists last season in the Championship is a pretty good pedigree.  Will have penalties which is an extra bonus

Swansea (H)
Liverpool (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Leicester (A)
Watford (H)

Deeney £5.1m

 Games 15/16 (sub):  41 (2)  Goals/KC:  15/13    Points per game:  4.3

The Watford captain is one of the few cheaper players with a premier league season behind him to give confidence to the season coming up.  On the positive side he has penalty duties.  On the negative side the fixtures to start with are terrible and he plays in a withdrawn striking position with a rather out of form Ighalo leading the line.

Southampton (A)
Chelsea (H)
Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)

Rondon £4.7m

 Games 15/16 (sub):  34 (5)  Goals/KC:  10/7    Points per game:  3.6

It was a pretty mixed start to life for the Venezuelan at WBA.  Rondon’s selection would be a punt on good fixtures to start rather than any form and WBA are a defensive minded team to further dampen his selection.

Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (H)
Middlesbrough (H)
Bournemouth (A)
West Ham (H)
Stoke (A)

Shane Long £4.8m

 Games 15/16 (sub):  24 (5)  Goals/KC:  10/5    Points per game:  4.0

The Irish striker looks likely to lead the line for Southampton and showed enough to suggest that he could, given a run in the team, be a reasonable cheap option.

Man Utd (A)
Sunderland (H)
Arsenal (A)
Swansea (H)
West Ham (A)
