 Sergio Torija

Sergio finished with an overall rank in the 300’s last season

Overall position 4433 / Points 54 / Transfers left 5

Two good sets of games for my team since last time, to improve my rank by 3K up to 4433. Lots of points came from Man City, Aubameyang this week and a lucky Baldock clean sheet since he was subbed. I swapped Jimenez to Jesus on the weekend to gain on extra games, and happy to hold the City striker for the season end.

As for what to do with the team, Otamendi not being a regular starter is a concern, although he has been trickling points for me. Double Sheffield defence is probably not needed either, so Henderson could go but swapping keepers is usually not where the big gains are, particularly that neither United, Chelsea or City are using their starting keepers in the FA Cup. Also Leicester are in poor form, but the 2 players I’ve got are cheapies. Barnes could well go this weekend to a Chelsea mid.

Good luck everyone !

Ben finished with an overall rank of 576 last season

Week points 39 Rank: 6,441 Transfers remaining: 7

 TEAM REVIEW

I suppose the first place to start, Is the non transfer of Martial.
When it became clear that he wasn’t in the starting lineup against Norwich, I decided to leave Mr Ings in the side, as he seems to have come back from lockdown full of football beans. That decision certainly paid off, and has earned the Southampton striker a stay of execution.
I also feel like I brought in KDB just in the nick of time. It’s certainly one of those transfers where I would be kicking myself if I hadn’t done it.
Doherty got himself yet another clean sheet, and just when I was losing hope with my Sheffield United contingent, Baldock popped up with eight points.

TEAM THOUGHTS

I suppose I have two main worries, and they have both appeared in defence.
I don’t feel good about having a double up of Sheffield United anymore, and may look to switch keepers.
I think Soyuncu May have outstayed his welcome. Leicesters shocking form shows no sign of stopping, and despite his cheap price, he is becoming a dead weight.
I was a little concerned about not having Martial, but Mr Fernandez reminded us of his qualities at a good time for me.
I am very happy with my team, other than my keeper and Leicester defender. Unfortunately they are both on the Cheapside, and I only have £0.5m in the bank. That leaves me rather Finn in the options department. I will have to put on my giant fantasy thinking hat and see what I can come up with. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Until next time fellow fantasy managers.

Stephen Troop

Stephen finished with an OR in the 900’s last season

Rank: 2.3k Transfers remaining:

It’s been a good start to the week, rising up to 2.3k from 3.6k at this time last week. On track for my top 1k aim. This is prior to the Thursday evening games where I have 6 players playing. Aubameyang on the third of his 4-1 over Liverpool players finally returned with 2 goals and a KC to provide a nice boost to Fernandes’s Tuesday night score. Fernandes is surpisingly quite low owned given his price, quality, great fixtures and having at least 1 more cup game. In fact most of united are.

I used one transfer to remove Jiminez last saturday after he played. It was originally planned to be an additional Manchester United players but with Rashford and Martial benched I left it (despite the temptation to go Maguire). I instead went Jesus which hasn’t worked out so far.

7 transfers left so I need to prioritise in the back end. My priorities are additional united coverage, removing Barnes and ensuring I’m taking advantage of extra fixtures for teams in the cup. United have great fixtures, and in the cup semi final. Aubameyang, despite being in the cup, has tougher fixtures now and i’m expecting City to get through their semi final so I’m switching him back to Salah for a few weeks, who is also chasing the Golden boot as well. Salah’s ownership means I shield that damage as well.

So my current plan is

Barnes > Maguire or AWB this Saturday
Aubameyang > Salah on Sunday (could do tonight given Aubameyang has a tough game vs Wolves)

Then Salah eventually to Martial/Rashford. United have a few instances of being the last kickoff so plenty of opportunities for this, athough i wish i had them all for this weekends Bournemouth game.

This leaves 4 transfers for injuries/boosting cup players later on. I like the look of Pulisic but I can’t see how I’d fit him in. It’s unlikely i’ll get eleven for the FA cup final, but provided City get through I should get close (and if not Arsenal don’t have many good options anyway).

Good luck all
