Bryan Forbes O’Rourke

Bryan finished an incredible 7th place overall in telegraph fantasy football last season

Totals points 1912 Overall rank 3690

A good week with 39 points scored and placed at 3690 place overall.

Plenty of clean sheets but not many attacking returns. I have 7 transfers left which is a little too many at this stage of the season. With no spare budget It’s not easy to see how best to use these transfers as the team is well set for the next couple of weeks. I may end up using the rest of the transfers on Cup final day and have a Watford block defence !

Sergio Torija

Sergio finished in 1,951 position last season in telegraph fantasy football

Total Pts 1,965, Overall rank 1,365

I’ve had a few decent/average weeks lately so my rank has stayed fairly stable just above 1K. The two set of games this week were again in that line, although just 25 points from the midweek games was poor. KDB’s injury was a real blow, he looked amazing in the couple games before that, but oh well, I brought in Aguero as the replacement.

I am now down to my last sub, so the target of a 1K finish is getting hard to achieve. Almost certainly, I will use that last transfer to bring in another City player. There are still plenty of opportunities for the move while gaining extra games, so will hold for now in case an injury eases the choice for the outgoing player.

Good luck for GW36 Geekers, and good luck to me in London Marathon !

Team review

It’s not very often that plans work out perfectly, but last week, my one did. Duffy kept a clean sheet before making way. Trent AA and Van Dijk came in to make a Liverpool triple up in defence, which also paid off. With Doherty and Ederson also banking points for a shut out, it meant a wonderful six clean sheets in total. My other planned transfer was Maddison for a Watford player. I was still contemplating minutes before kickoff: Gray or Deulofeu? I was thanking the fantasy God’s by the end of the game that I had gone with the latter. I did also make one unplanned and reckless transfer. I wanted to cash in on Spurs game during the week, so changed Hazard for Son. That one didn’t work out. 80 points over the weekend finally helped me in to the top 1000, I just hope I can stay there.

Team thoughts

I have five transfers left, which is fine. I think I will have to use one to bring in Mane. I wouldn’t forgive myself if he bangs in a hat-trick against Huddersfield. I think it will have to be Son making way for my latest Liverpool purchase, thus rendering Son’s transfer in even more thoughtless. Sometimes you just get caught up and do silly things.

I don’t generally like having a thin spread of teams covered, but at the moment it seems right. I will have five Liverpool, and three Man City. But they are the form teams with the most to play for. With two Wolves players in the mix, Watford is the only other team I have an interest in. I’m hoping that this will pay off, and be just different enough to the other occupants of the top 1000 to nudge me up as the season comes to an end.

To confirm, just the one transfer planned. Son out and Mane in.

Good luck boys and girls.

Stephen Troop

Stephen finished approximately 1k last season OR

Week points: 40 Overall rank: 6,492 Transfers remaining: 7 total points: 1,797

An average couple of weeks for me where not having Doherty cost me yesterday. I’m now sat at 7.1k, quite a bit off where I’d like. There are a few opportunities over the next couple of weeks to hopefully improve my rank but I wouldn’t expect much north of 5k even if they pay off.

Salah will go to Son on Saturday as he will have 2 games before Salah plays again, where I’ll swap back. Then Bernardo Silva will be coming in for their game a week on Monday (likely Hazard or Mane making way) for an extra game and loading up for the FA cup final. This leaves me 2 final transfers for the cup final or in case of injuries
