Here’s Bryan’s team:

A below par week with 41 points scored and a dip in the ranking to 3502 place.

A smattering of 1 and 2 points from most players along with a fine 17 point haul from Raheem Sterling. I made one transfer by bringing in Laporte for Tripper. Tripper didn’t play on the Saturday and I expected Laporte to come of the bench for a partial clean sheet however he remained a bench warmer for 90 minutes. Part of the thinking was that Laporte would start against Swansea on Saturday but after playing in Europe on Tuesday that now seems less certain.

Having made a number of blunders with this team over the course of the season, most notably not bringing in Aguero for his back to back hat tricks, a top 1000 finish will be tough but with 12 transfers left there is scope for taking a gamble or two. Not this week though as I don’t plan on making any changes, the team being in good shape.

Best of luck.

Last week was ok thanks to Mr Sterling, not planning on changes this week since transfers to a minimum and I should save them for getting extra matches. Having said that though, City have a good entry point this week and Kolasinac or Anderson could make way, but not sure who to bring in other than Aguero, who it would be a surprise to start.

Team review

On the whole, I suppose that’s the epitome of an average week. My ranking remained virtually static. Considering it was a defensive disaster, with my back line amassing 4, yes 4 points, it didn’t work out too bad.

Sterling was the undoubted star with 17, and I dread to think what it must have felt like not to have him in your team. Hazard’s last minute goal saw him make a much needed contribution, while Salah could only manage an assist. Aguero could also only muster a single assist, while Jimenez did the business again with his goal against Chelsea.

Team thoughts

I used a transfer last week to bring in Schlupp, who’s first game for me was less than explosive, though he did have a few chances, and moved in to attack later in the game. I’m hoping he can bring in some points this weekend when Palace play Watford in the FA cup.

I’m currently pretty happy with my team, with no immediate plans to change anything. There is part of me that wishes I’d changed Salah for Mane a few weeks back when I started having Salah doubts, but it would only save me £0.6m, and I’m not going to start chasing points now.

I will be keeping a close eye on Pogba over the next few weeks. After churning out the points like a fantasy machine, he’s gone very quiet of late. He’s not in danger of being kicked out just yet, but I will be looking for some improvement if he wants to remain in my squad.

Good luck boys and girls.
