A few points to note about the template team selection
I literally looked at 8 content creators teams and here is what I came with as the most popular players
A couple of caveats
These are just a selection of individual players from the match day 1 content creator teams. They may all have different chip strategies especially the Wildcard which affect how their team is selected.
You should just look at it as player ideas for your team rather than as a team to start with. Having said that it does fit within the £100m budget
Here’s the team
So here are the differences between this team and the FFGeek Team
GK FFGeek Rangel vs Template Vargas
The Template team ends up with double Colombia defence and fair enough they have better clean sheet odds than Mexico but I’ve avoided doubling up on defence
Colombia defence – FFGeek £4.6m Munoz and Template £3.9m Mojica
A way cheaper under 5% owned defender (2.1%) aiming for the 2 point differential bonus vs the chance of scoring.
His scoring record isn’t that different for Palace and Colombia.
Crystal Palace: 1 goal every 948.38 minutes (fewer than 11 full 90-minute matches)
Colombia: 1 goal every 1,185.33 minutes (roughly 13 full 90-minute matches)
TBF I may switch to Mojica myself for the savings and 2 point differential bonus
French defender – FFGeek $5.4m Kounde and Template $5.3m Upamecano
This would have been because Upamecano was below the 5% ownership threshold. He’s now above it.
If he goes below again I would likely switch to him
Defs FFGeek Brazil’s Wesley vs Template Spain’s Pedro Porro
From what I’ve read Pedro Porro is not nailed as Spain’s starting RB. The easier fixtures though could mean his attacking ability is favoured over Llorente in the earlier rounds.
I’ve gone for 2 Spanish attackers and again avoided double defence. Wesley is an under 5% defender. The first game against Morroco isn’t easy but next against Haiti should be a nailed CS
Mids FFGeek De Ketelaere vs Template Xhaka
I’m not going to worry about this too much. I’m sure these are just the last piece dictated to by value left.
Mids FFGeeks Doue vs Template Musiala
I haven’t got 3 German players in the team (only 2) which seems a mis step to be fixed somehow
Mids FFGeek Williams vs Template Raphinha
Even though I have no Brazil player for RD 1 vs Morocco someone in RD 2 vs Haiti would be desirable. I have 2 Spanish attackers vs the template’s 2 defenders.
Williams is a placeholder for Yamal who is doubtful for the start of the tournament although this article is more positive
Fwds FFGeek Kane vs Template Haaland
Norway’s first game against Iraq is a good one but next against Senegal isn’t the best. I can’t see me starting with Kane in RD 1 vs Croatia so there are likely to be changes here.
