Lineup comment:

Brazil:  Fernandinho came in for Paulino who was benched

Match comment:

Excellent game where both sides looked to win.  Started off with both sides pressing highh up the pitch.  Brazil dropped off in the 2nd half as Chile took control and looked to win.

Player comment:

Neymar

Very good in the first half , disappeared in the 2nd half.  Still the most threatending player by some distance.

The Brazil defence

Again really didn’t look secure at all.  The fact that Cesar was called into action said alot.  Very expensive for current form.

Sun Dream Team scoring:

Brazil:  Only Cesar got a 7.  Star Man was Sanchez of Chile

Colombia 2 Uruguay 0

Goals:  J Rodriguez 2  Assists:  Cuadrado  Aguilar

Lineups (lineups and ratings from the Daily Mail):

Colombia: Ospina 8, Zuniga 7.5, Zapata 6.5, Yepes 6, Armero 7, Cuadrado 7.5 (Guarin 81), Aguilar 7, Sanchez 6, Rodriguez 8.5 (Ramos 85), Gutierrez 7 (Meija 68), Mainez 6.5. Subs not used: Vargas, Arias, Carbonero, Ibarbo, Balanta, Bacca, Quintero, Valdes, Mondragon.

Booked: Armero.

Uruguay: Muslera 7, Caceres 6, Gimenez 6.5, Godin 6.5, A Pereira 6.5, M Pereira 7, Gonzalez 5.5 (Hernandez 67), Arevalo 5.5, Rodriguez 6, Cavani 7.5, Forlan 6 (Stuani 53). Subs not used: Munoz, Fucile, Gargano, Lodeiro, Perez, Ramirez, Coates, Silva.

Match comment:

The game started with Uruguay sitting back in 3-5-2 and Colombia being invited to break them down.  The game changed when Rodriguez scored a fantastic individual goal.  That forced out Uruguay and towards the end of the game they had some chances.

Player comment

J Rodriguez

Been fantastic and its now 5 goals in 4 games scoring in each.

Cuadrado

Again was excellent throughout the game and drove the team forward with his dribbling.  Also excellent in the air with the 2nd goal and also some defensive headers.

The Colombia defence

Were absolutely excellent especially the GK Ospina.  Brazil next though.

Round of 16 Day 2 key player previews

Holland v Mexico

Could be a game of attack v defence and Mexico have shown their ability to do so in the games against Croatia and Brazil.  Martins Indi and Fer are injured so check the lineups

RVP

3 goals in 2 games and should take pens.  Been reborn at the World Cup.

Robben

With Muller and James Rodriguez the midfield star of the World Cup.  Better on the break which is why may find it difficult today

The Dutch defence

The Mexican team in my mind will drop deep as they did for Croatia in the early part of the game.  Meixco will seek to win the game late on.  All this does give a good chance of a clean sheet for the Dutch.  Blind seems to be the value play in the defence.

Costa Rica v Greece

Costa Rica will look to be positive and Greece defend.  Both are good defensive sides.

The Costa Rican defence

2 clean sheets so far and should have been 3 if not for a dubious penalty.  Greece aren’t the greatest attacking threat.  Duarte seems to be the value here.

Borges

The set piece taker and probably the best midfield option although yet to return a goal or assist.

Campbell

Has been excellent so far and the best attacking option with 1 goal and 1 assist

The Greece defence

Have had a mixed defensive performance but have to have some chance of a clean sheet here.  Torosidis is the best attacking option

Thats it.  Good luck today
