fantasy premier league GW27 – some early thoughts on the FFGeek team

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s some early FFGeek team thoughts in this fantasy premier league GW27 article. We look at gameweek 26, some issues facing the team, transfer thoughts and early captain thinking

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW27 – SOME EARLY THOUGHTS ON THE FFGEEK TEAM

So firstly it’s important to say I’m continuing with my 2 team theme as a result of my accidental free hit chip being used in GW23.

Team 1 is the team with the free hit chip lost.

Team 2 has the free hit team intact and was cloned from one of my alternate FFGeek teams to be my original team through a -28 point hit.

Team 2 is to help people who were following my original team as a reference point so they can continue doing so.

Team 1 will help those people who used their free hit chip earlier in the season.

Both teams require totally different strategies to navigate through the potential blank and double gameweeks up coming

Here was my team selection article going into the gameweek if you’re interested

GW26 PERFORMANCE – FREE HIT LOST TEAM

GW26 points: 37 (average 43) Gameweek rank 3,889k Overall Rank: 80k red arrow 25k Team Value: £103.4m

Here’s the team points. A 25k red arrow to 80k OR.

So a pretty disastrous week  with the only guy returning to any extent was the one guy I didn’t want to in Salah.  That’s obviously because if you don’t captain him such is his ownership that you will lose points if he returns.

Just managed to avoid my third 4 million gameweek rank by a whisker.  The transfer of Jones I suspected would be a risk due to rotation but it was a risk that would be mitigated to a certain extent by numerous others missing out too.

ISSUES WITH THE TEAM

I have 1 free transfer and £1.3m in the bank.

Kenny

Played v Arsenal but only due to fixture proximity preventing Coleman from playing again.  A reasonable pririty exit although the closer it gets to GW32/33 and a 2nd wildcard the easier it is to keep him.

Gomez

Now injured without much club feedback.  Another exit as even if fit it’s hard to see Gomez playing in GW31 home to Watford as Alexander Arnold has played alot of the easier home games.

Niasse

A bit of a watch this one as Big Sam was saying alot of adjustment to the premier league words about Tosun.  So no real rush to ditch him at the moment

Ogbonna

The Cyborg refuses to be killed off much as I want him out.  Fixtures could be worse but 2 representatives of the West Ham defence needs to end.  Fixtures could be worse

Watford (H)
Liverpool (A)
Swansea (A)
Burnley (H)

Richarlison

I didn’t think he was too bad although we and him were both crying with his early substitution.  That fact his though that he has produced pretty ordinary underlying stats for close on 6 games.  His presence in GW31 and his price may save him. Fixtures could be worse too.  The 1 worry is that the perfrmance of Pereya and Carrillo plus his work load this season and his young age could see some rest time.  Thankfully Watford are out of the cup so he will have a week off.

West Ham (A)
Everton (H)
West Brom (H)
Arsenal (A

Son HM

3 consecutive blanks albeit v Southampton A, Man Utd H and Liverpool A.  Also his goal threat underlying stats in the last 2 games were very good as well as his virtual striker position.  So given that and his fixtures coming up I’m relaxed about having him in the team albeit Spurs are a bit unpredictable to have 2 attacking players in your team.  Fund raising would be the reason to sell.

Arsenal (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Bournemouth (A)

TRANSFER OPTIONS

Fixtures are ok this week so I’m likely to carry over the FT.

the only transfer I’ve been thinking of is either Richarlison to Walcott or Son to Walcott.  Neither of them seem particularly necessary.  Ricarlison’s fixtures are ok and having held Son through the tricky ones it seems a bit uneccessasry to sell him now.  Richarlison losing his place at the weekend could trigger a sale but not this week. Also having 2 Everton attacking players in the team seems a tad ridiculous but I do like Walcott.

BLANK AND DOUBLE GAMEWEEK THOUGHTS

Yesterday I did an update on my thoughts on the blanks and double gameweeks.  Step 1 was carrying over a free transfer this week so you have 2 for after the FA Cup 5th round games have been played

THE TEAM LINEUP BEFORE ANY TRANSFERS

 fantasy premier league GW27

So good fixtures this week really.  I need to give the lineup more thought.  This was just a quick one.  However the fact that I even need to think about it is encouraging.

CAPTAIN IDEAS

I’ve left it on Aguero but again needs more thought.  The captain article later in the week maybe crucial

GW26 PERFORMANCE – FREE HIT INTACT TEAM

This team is as if I didn’t make an accidental free hit ie the same as my original team and was cloned from one of my alternate FFGeek teams to be my original team through a -28 point hit. I will keep it to show how I would have navigated through the blanks with all the chips intact. I think that will be helpful for those who were using my original team as a reference point

GW26 points: 37 (average 43) Gameweek rank 3,889k Overall Rank: 212k red arrow 54k Team Value: £101.9m

Here’s the points:

So not much to say.  The transfer in of Wilson had a pretty ordinary game considering the opposition.  Again I either will replace Christensen or carry over the transfer.

Here’s the lineup without any transfers:
