Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible again this season.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,943
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
GAMEWEEK REVIEW
A good week for the top 10 FPL managers. 8 of the 10 had green arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW29 was 77 compared to the average of 47. Thats 30 points and 64% above the average score. The high score of the 10 was 96. The low score was 55. A big spread of 41 for the gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw an improvement of rank to 121k compared to the last gameweek of 132k. An average rank improvement of rank of 11k. The best rank is less than 100 and the lowest 484k. A couple of scores are distorting the average. If you calculated the median rank then that improved significantly to 62k compared to 95k last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 33k. At the moment 6 have overall ranks inside 100k. 3 are inside the top 10k.

I’m now ahead of 4 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low in comparison at £102.7m. An improvement from the last gameweek of £102.0m. My total score is 1579 points.

The top 10 fpl managers I follow have some big differences (30% difference is the benchmark) with the top 10k rank.

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him.
An OK week. At present he has a 9k overall rank, an improvement in rank of 1k from the last gameweek of 10k. His total points are 1,666 after an ok score of 73 this gameweek. Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.
THE HIGHEST SCORING AND LOWEST SCORING MANAGERS IN GW29

The highest scorer was 96 for our 2nd placed manager. He’s now ranked around 600
Lowest scorer
A low score of 55 sees this manager fall to 484k.
However to show you how challenging this season is his last 3 seasons overall ranks were 2,801, 623 and 987
Defence again played a major part with 24 of the 41 points difference are in defence.

The core players who are in more than 50% of the managers teams are Lukaku, Sigurdsson, Mane, Coleman and Alonso.
If you cross reference this with the top 10k managers with players over 50% then by that Coleman, Siggy, Lukaku and Mane are essential.
