fantasy premier league news catch up – Sunday – 2 December 2012

News

Here’s the fantasy premier league news catch up for Sunday 2nd December 2012

Bale

Here’s what AVB said re Gareth Bale (Dawson included in the quote as it appeared in the Daily Mail)

‘Both Bale and Dawson have suffered hamstring muscle injuries,’ the Spurs boss said.
‘One looks more serious than the other although both are controllable. With muscle injuries it’s very difficult but it might keep (Bale) out for one to weeks. Dawson a little bit less.’

It seems a bit ambitious to me.  This causes a big problem for those holding Bale and Suarez who’s suspended this weekend having racked up 5 bookings.

I’ll probably sell as I’m not convinced he will only miss 1-2 weeks.  Fantasy premier league seems to be littered with historic stories of supposed early recovery hamstrings which ending up taking a month to heal.  I sell at £9.7 with his price currently £9.9m so its hardly a big deal having to repurchase apart from the use of a transfer.

The injury to Dawson gives a bit more security to cheapie Caulker although it seems he is ahead of the other 2 at the moment anyway.

Suarez

Don’t buy.  He racked up his 5th booking trying to handle the ball in to the net (he just can’t leave it alone can he) and is suspended until game week 17 and wont play in game week 16

Carroll

Out for 8 weeks with a knee ligament injury.  Here’s Big Sam

‘It’s a lateral ligament injury on the outside of knee. He’s in a brace.
‘But he will stay with us. We’ve contacted Liverpool and they have all the information and sent a representative down when we went to visit the specialist.
‘They use the same specialist and Andy will hopefully recover as quick as the specialist said he might.’

Good news for fantasy premier league owners of Carlton Cole although with West Hams fixtures and forward places at a premium I wont be going there.  Bad news for fantasy premier league owners of attacking midfield revelation Nolan who relies on knockdowns and the chaos Carroll creates.  May not necessarily be terminal as Nolan was doing the business before Carroll arrived

Steven Fletcher

Just what fantasy premier league managers don’t need before 2 games for Sunderland in game week 16.  An injury to one of the few attacking candidates in Sunderland.  personally I would go for Sessegnon anyway but here’s O’Neill in ESPN

“I’m really not sure, at this moment he is sore,” O’Neill told Sky Sports. “The doctor is with him as we speak and I really will not know about the injury properly until Monday or Tuesday.”
Probably the most interesting outcome would be Sessgnon moving to striker if Fletcher doesn’t make it.  We’ll keep you posted

Anderson

Here’s SAF as quoted on the official site.

“It’s a hamstring unfortunately. He’ll be out for a few weeks,”

Who knows what this means given the injuries and rotation but Ashley Young is looking a cert to play given Nani and Valencia injuries.

fantasy premier league price rises and falls

5 rises of £0.1m

A Cole

Nastasic

Michu

Defoe

Fletcher

 Falls

Too many £0.1m’s to mention.  No £0.2ms.  Jelavic and De Gea are 2 of the more interesting ones
