Here’s the short news catch up for fantasy premier league managers

News catch up

  • No contract for Lampard – still looks like he will stay to end of season so no immediate boost for Ramires or Liz as screening midfielders
  • Carroll and Diame to return to West Ham for FA cup replay – scratch Cole from your wildcard for GW23 – don’t consider O’Neill
  • Sturridge says he has long way to go before he is fully match fit – no need to panic sell Suarez as losing his central position just yet
  • Southampton Mayuka joins up ACON for Zambia – no big effect as bit part player
  • Adebayor looks to be joining Togo in ACON – hold on to Defoe with QPR away as he  seems to play better as a lone striker
  • Baines has ankle problem – no guarantee he will line up against Swansea
  • Don’t expect Cabaye and S Taylor back against Norwich according to Pardew although Physio room expect him to be fit
  • Keiron Dyer leaves QPR  – no fantasy premier league effect
  • John Terry back in training for Chelsea – Could even return  for the weekend depending on U21 game has consequences for Cahill and potentially Apilicueta although Ivanovic amd Luiz should be safe. Not great for Wildcard and 2 Chelsea games in GW22
  • Nelsen accepts role as manager of MLS team although still available for Spurs this weekend.  Bad for cheap rotation defenders.  Good for Ferdinand and Clint Hill as options
  • Zoltan Gera out for season – good for Dorrans but probably no effect when Yacob returns

Transfer shorts

  • Angelo Henriquez  to Wigan- 18 year old striker on loan from Man U.  Could immediately play as cover for Kone at ACON with Wigan playing 2 up front although more likely Boselli – risky
  • Daniel Carrico – CD or CM  to Reading- Sporting Lisbon captain, risk for your fantasy premier league wildcard bargains of £3.8m Mariappa and Pearce.  Hard to say given rotation who most at risk, possibly Pearce
  • Hope Akban signs from Crawley to Reading – 21 year old, hard to see an impact on current midfield
