Here’s an article from regular contributor to the site Rob Reid (aka finlay81) who talks about his transfers for GW3.

fantasy premier league tips – Rob Reid (aka finlay81) talks about his GW3 transfers

So here’s the article.  I don’t have a picture of his team at the moment but I will update the article.  Here’s a link to his previous article prior to GW1.  To make matters worse I may have interpreted the team wrong! Here’s also hisearly season  strategy article.   I’ve asked  Rob to send his team but he’s posting it on twitter on Friday anyway  with the FFG tag

So far so good this season! Overall rank 72k and lucky with captaincy picks so far. We’re only 2 weeks in though so not going to get carried away!

I’ve also gone for early transfers this week for similar reasons to the Geek. I sold Feghouli on Friday night as his price was set to drop – he’s out injured until at least Gameweek 4 and I think it will be several weeks before he gets any appreciable game time so it was a no-brainer. He was my cheapest midfielder at £5.5m so I bought the even cheaper Capoue to free up some funds. His injury in the Chelsea game caused me a slight worry but I see he came on as a sub in the League Cup last night so he should be ok for Saturday if needed. Despite his good start to season, I still anticipate using him as a bench player.

I made my second transfer on Sunday night as there was an outside chance of Eriksen falling then, though it seems that any potential price drop will now happen tonight. Disappointed at having to sell him and lose Spurs attacking coverage, though their output has been lean in the first 2 games. Tricky transfer this – like you, ideally I’d have bought Hazard but didn’t have the funds available for this. The Liverpool midfield are also attracting attention but I’m still worried about their consistency and game-time security. Everton also provided so good options but in the end I’ve taken a slight risk and brought in Mesut Ozil. Arsenal have some better fixtures coming up – Watford away should suit their style of football and Southampton home GW4 is a good one as well (Saints haven’t won away to Arsenal since the late 1980s I believe.) He came on as a sub in GW2 so should be fit to start GW3, usually he’s a good source of assists and bonus points so hopefully he’ll hit the ground running! I’m a big fan of the Arsenal midfield – they’ve been a steady stream of points for several seasons and I hope that doesn’t change this season.

These transfers have very much been about maintaining team value rather than chasing Bandwagons so far…fingers crossed they work out!

On my radar for the next couple of weeks:

Couple of injury concerns first up. Friend was subbed near the end of normal time tonight, so need to keep an eye on this. Also Gray faces a disrepute charge next week which could lead to a suspension. My initial plan was to bring in Payet for Mahrez after the international break but this could change on the basis of either of these. I’m also keeping a close eye on Hazard – a good game versus Burnley could see me put the Payet move on ice and take a -4 to bring Hazard in. I’ll also be keeping a close eye on the Arsenal defence, the form of Negredo and Benteke as Gray replacements and also on Palace’s form. Townsend is a slight worry for me as he’s a potential faller if his form doesn’t pick up.

That’s all for the moment – I’ll post my GW3 team on Twitter on Friday night with the FFG tag.

Best of luck!

Thanks Rob for this excellent article.   Good luck this gameweek
