SKY SPORTS FANTASY FOOTBALL TIPS – THE FFGEEK TEAM AND LOOKING AHEAD TO FEBRUARY

THE FFGEEK TEAM

Firstly here’s the FFGeek team.

Total Points:  1597  Overall rank:  150  Transfers left:  14

To be 150 overall rank out of 2 million estimated teams shows that everything is going swimmingly.  In case you’re wondering, I don’t hold any aspirations of winning the overall contest though.  I’m 150 points behind the leader and at the moment every 50/50 decision is going for me which will inevitably be reversed.

I’ve slightly changed the original structure somewhat with 3 strikers but with Sanchez a striker the premiums are just too attractive to not have 3.  That means I’ve changed the midfield some what and now have 3 pass and tackle bonus players.  To be honest everyone should have Henderson he just has bonus points for breakfast at the base of the Liverpool midfield 3.  Gueye will come back for Romeu who’s another bonus points monster and then it’s just what I do with Harry Arter if he doesn’t get back into the Bournemouth side.  Firmino will change for Coutinho when I feel Coutinho will play 90 minutes.

In defence Alonso and Heaton are safe.  Van Dijk is ok while the fixtures are good but Gibson is someone who could be moved out for a cheapie with good fixtures.

CAPTAIN PLANNING

The key to Sky is to plan your captains properly. The ability to change captains for each game day means that if you put the planning in and remember to do your transfers then you have a major edge if you’re playing in a work league for example. It’s a real pain to do so. I set alarms on my phone all the time which as you can imagine is a source of alot of eye rolling and stick.

I’ve decided to cover the majority of the gamedays with 4/5 potential captains in 5 or 6 week blocks and try and limit transfers to a few a month based on injuries, captain picks and loss of position rather than hasty form changes. Those 4 with captain potential at the moment are Ibrahimovic, Sanchez, Kane and Firmino.

I’ve got 14 transfers left with 16 rounds to go. I try to limit the use to 3 per month.

FIXTURES AND CAPTAIN PLANNING

TUESDAY  31 JANUARY

ARSENAL V WATFORD – Sanchez
SUNDERLAND V SPURS – Kane

WEDNESDAY 1 FEBRUARY

WEST HAM V MAN CITY
MAN UTD V HULL – Ibrahimovic

SATURDAY 4 FEBRUARY

SPURS V MIDDLESBORO – Kane

SUNDAY 5 FEBRUARY

MAN CITY V SWANSEA
LEICESTER V MAN UTD – Ibrahimovic

SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY

ARSENAL V HULL
MAN UTD V WATFORD

SUNDAY 12 FEBRUARY

BURNLEY V CHELSEA – Alonso

MONDAY 13 FEBRUARY

BOURNEMOUTH V MAN CITY ( no captain at the moment)

SATURDAY 25 FEBRUARY

CHELSEA V SWANSEA
SOUTHAMPTON V ARSENAL – Sanchez

SUNDAY 26 FEBRUARY

SPURS V STOKE – Kane
MAN CITY V MAN UTD (EFL final risk)

MONDAY 27 FEBRUARY

LEICESTER V LIVERPOOL – Firmino (EFL final risk)

SATURDAY 4 MARCH

MAN UTD V BOURNEMOUTH – Ibrahimovic
SUNDERLAND V MAN CITY
WEST HAM V CHELSEA

So really the current line up of 4 works well.  What is apparent though is I don’t really need the Liverpool player although Coutinho is an attractive proposition.  I only have 1 captain gap but that’s 7 game days away and with the amount of transfers I have I could just parachute some in in for it.

TRANSFER IDEAS

Here’s some pass and tackle bonus players to fill in your midfield

I’ve put them in order of points gained.  The minutes per point is an interesting stat.  It shows how good Henderson and Gueye are.  The surprises are Herrera and Obiang.  Herrera is a bit expensive for my liking for a pass and tackle player.  Obiang though is great value.  He’s played 90 minutes in the last 3 games but his gametime is more uncertain than the others so if you put him in then do so with your eyes open to the risk.  Arter is great value but needs to get his place back after surprisingly being dropped in the last gameweek

IF I COULD START AGAIN

Here’s what my team would be:

GK: Heaton £5.8m

DEF: Baines £7.3m, Alonso £7.9m, McAuley £6.7m

MIDFIELD: Coutinho £10.7m, Henderson £8.9m, Gueye £7.5m, Obiang £7.3m

FORWARDS: Kane £12.8m, Sanchez £12.4m, Ibrahimovic £12.2m

That’s it hope it gives you some food for thought for your transfers
