Sun Dream Team 17/18 returns to FFGeek

Sun Dream Team

The Sun Dream Team 17/18 game has opened,  at least on the desk top version.  Here’s a quick summary of the new rules and an outline of the plans on the FFGeek site this season

Sun Dream Team 17/18 returns to FFGeek

I’ve paraphrased the new and full rules by copying and pasting from the Dream Team fc site.  They are just for info and you should satisfy yourself by going to the dreamteamfc site and reading them

New Sun Dream Team 17/18 rules

Here’s the new rules from the Sun Dream Team 17/18 site with my comments in italics.  Nothing earth shattering rules wise.  The gameweek period is probably the only thing significant.  Later in the rules it talks about maximum price rise per week being £0.3m which I thought was new but apparently not.

Each Game Week will run from Friday to Thursday making the first Premier League match of the weekend the first opportunity to get points.

Managers will be able to make transfers involving players that have already played in a Game Week. These will be completed at 7am every Friday.

If I’m reading this right it doesn’t mean you can transfer out a player on the Monday if he or his team has already played and then get another player in who has or hasn’t played to replace him and get points for both in the same gameweek.  It just means it’s automatically updated .  Happy to be corrected on this.

The reason I say that is this later in the rules:

An eligible Transfer will take immediate effect and will occur if you transfer a player out for another player where neither the outgoing player’s club nor the incoming player’s club have played during the Game Week in which you make that Transfer.

The game is completely free to play with an entire £750,000 in free prizes available to all Managers throughout the season.

Sun have removed Cash Mini Leagues meaning Chairman will have to collect and pay out the winners themselves.  .

Managers can create a maximum of 10 Season teams with all teams eligible for cash prize

Full rule summary

Again a paraphrased copy and paste.

Over the course of a season a Player’s value will change based on their point scoring performance.

The revised value for each Player will be applied and published on the Website and App at 07:00:00 every Friday after the completion of a Game Week

– Standard Mini League is the normal way Mini Leagues are run, whereby Managers’ teams are ranked against each other based on the accumulated points earned across the duration of the entire Regular Season.

– Head to Head is where two Managers of a Mini League play against each other (the ‘fixture’ selected in rotation by the Promoter before scoring starts) with the outcome calculated in accordance with standard points scoring system.

 – Prize money for winning the overall Sun Dream Team season league competition is £150k. £50k 2nd £20k 3rd and under £10k prizes to 10th

FFGeek Plans this season

There will be a number of posts prior to the season starts giving player recommendations as well as fixture analysis and strategy.

Once the season starts there will be at least a weekly post prior to the weekend outlining some player options and fixture information as for this example  last season

As for last season I’ll probably do 2 teams and at least tweet transfers before games as I do them.

Winner of the FFGeek league a couple of years ago and friend of the site Simon Rowley will be starting up the FFGeek league in the next week or so as he was admin last season.

Next I’ll be doing a draft team article as well as a bit of commentary plus throwing around a couple of stats
