Here are 5 players who could hurt you if you don’t own them.  We look at the 5 highest owned players who if they score will hurt your ranking.  They will also probably be owned by your mini league rivals and will also cause problems there when they score.

Sun Dream Team – 5 players who could hurt you if you don’t own them

The basics are simple.  High ownership players if you dont own them will hurt your ranking or mini league ranking if you don’t own them.  Here are the 5 highest owned players in Sun Dream Team and the risks or mitigating circumstances in not owning them.  The idea is to own those who present too much risk to avoid ranking falls and get the other picks right.  I don’t think it says explicitly on the site but I believe the ownership stats will change after the transfer window closes and isn’t adjusted live so we also take a guess at who will be the most transferred in

Costa (58%)

At the moment is an injury doubt over a hamstring issue so that needs monitoring and that in itself also should reduce the risk if he is sold on the back of that. He also has 8 yellow cards so needs to get through the next 2 rounds without getting 2 cards otherwise he will be banned for 2 games.  Given the hamstring issues during the season he could also be the first player to be rested should Chelsea win the league early. He is a good returner although there are 5 strikers with a greater points per game than him.  There are 4 strikers with a better 7+ % and given the talent in the team and Hazard especially his starman % is quite low.  So there are other players who are scarier not to own

Sterling (53%)

Tricky one this.  At the moment he’s playing right wing back so isn’t much of a scoring risk however with Sturridge ruled out for an injury for up to a month then Sterling  could possibly play up front and that will definitely be more of a risk.  With Liverpool still in the FA Cup and having a quarter final replay then he could play up to 3 games more than the premier league games.  So a difficult one to assess at the moment.

Sanchez (48%)

A class player who was on fire earlier in the season but has struggled of late.  Wenger has talked about rotation of him citing fatigue and there certainly are enough players to rotate him in the Arsenal midfield.  He could be sold given his form problems of late which would ease the risk .  Arsenal also have some tricky fixtures.  So whether you sell or don’t buy depends on whether you think his form will return and he isn’t rotated significantly

Hazard (38%)

A midfielder who has been in great form all season.  The fixtures aren’t too bad and he also has pens.  The one area which diminishes the risk is that if Chelsea do win the league early he’s likely to be rested given the amount of games played.  Can’t imagine he will be sold if anything I think he will be bought.

Aguero (37%)

Has been off colour of late but there’s no doubting his class and ability to score in multiple numbers at any time.  That makes him a risky player to sell or not have and he also has pens.  His recent form though means that he also could be sold reducing that risk.
