Here we look at the top 20 point scorers so far in our Sun Dream Team transfer window 4 tips article and try to analyse them in different ways to understand the reasoning behind the players ranking and any trends for the future
Sun Dream Team transfer window 4 tips – analysing the top 20 point scorers to date
Here is the table of the top 20 point scorers from the Sun Dream Team site. Below we analyse the top 20 in various ways:
Analysed by position
12/20 are strikers
5/20 are midfielders
3/20 are defenders
0/20 are GKs
Interestingly the top 4 are all strikers and 7 of 8 are strikers. Its back to normal as far as position with the attacking players (17/20) dominating the points and that is where it is worth concentrating your funds on. 2 of the 3 defenders are from Man Utd.
Analysed by teams in European competitions
13/20 have been involved in European competitions (assuming you dont count Southampton). The strategy probably isn’t as dominant as in previous years but still strong enough to be the focus of our team to date.
The 8 players outside this are Lukaku, Barkley, Vardy, Mahrez, Ighalo, Deeney, and Pelle. The Leicester and Watford players reflect the dominant forces in their team. Lukaku and Barkely have benefited from the domestic cup runs
Analysed by team
Man Utd 4 (Blind, Rooney, Smalling Martial)
Man City 3 (Aguero, De Bruyne, Yaya Toure)
Arsenal 3 (Giroud, Sanchez, Ozil)
Everton 2 (Lukaku, Barkley)
Leicester 2 (Vardy, Mahrez)
Watford 2 (Ighalo, Deeney)
Southampton (Pelle), Spurs (Kane), Chelsea (Costa) Liverpool (Clyne)
So interestingly all the top point scorers for the clubs mentioned are strikers apart from Blind and Clyne
So what does this mean?
So Sun Dream Team so far this season has reiterated the strategy of concentrating your funds and transfers on attacking players especially strikers. Players from teams in European competitions, those who will concentrate on the domestic cups and players who are dominant forces within their teams are the areas to concentrate on
So while that provides some overall context, this last phase of this seasons Sun Dream Team will be different in some aspects.
Only Man City and Liverpool are left in Europe. The FA Cup is at it’s semi final stage subject to 1 quarter final replay.
That means the analysis of individual players and their premier league fixtures will be of greater importance as there is a potentially wider net to be cast for this last phase.
We’ll start this analysisn by next look at the teams with the best fixtures in the last phase of this seasons Sun Dream Team
