Here’s the transfers for transfer window 1 for what was my original Sun World Cup team.

So remember its 4 transfers before the round of 16 and then 4 before the quarters. Again here’s the transfers and the new team and I’ll talk through the rationale below:
Dzeko out – Benzema in
Pedro out – Robben in
Zhirkov out – Gamboa in
Alba out – Blind in
Here’s the new team £0.5m in the bank
So if you saw my article on my other team you won’t need any rationale for the front 6. The team was easier as there were 4 players who didn’t make it to the round of 16. In defence I went for the cheapie Costa Rica defender as he has a chance of a clean sheet against Greece. Blind was my other certainty.
Again looking at my predicted quarters I will have to lose 4 players in the transfer window before that:
Brazil v Colombia – 2 players lost either way
France v Germany – lose 1 player assuming Germany win
Holland v Costa Rica – lose 1 player from Costa Rica banking on a Holland win
Argentina v Belgium – assume Belgium win
Total transfers required for the quarters is 4.
