I thought I should do a very short fantasy premier league double gameweek tips article to talk about the week and how I will continue rolling over my free transfer this week for a potential double gameweek/blanks week upcoming due to the Capital One Cup

Basically I just wanted to let you know that this week on Tuesday and Wednesday are the Cap 1 semi finals second legs. After those games we will know the identity of the capital one cup finalists. They will play in GW27 leading to possibly 2 postponed games in GW27. Those postponed games could end up ( but not necessarily) in GW25 leading to a double gameweek. However there will also be the blanks from those postponed games for the same teams as Cap 1 finalists in GW27. To make matters more complicated there could be FA Cup quarter final carnage in gameweek 30 when those quarters will see potentially mass postponements of premier league games. They possibly will go to GW34 which will probably be a more logical focus for my 2nd wildcard.
I’m not proposing to give all the permutations now. It’s a little pointless at the minute . However in simple terms, the finalsist in the Cap 1 will be either Liverpool or Stoke and Man City or Everton. You can potentially have 5 double gameweek players in GW25 and then transfer out 2 before gameweek 27 and have 3 GW25 double gameweek players on the bench for their blanks in GW27 and a full compliment of players in that gameweek 27.
After the weekend and the 4th round of the FA Cup we will have some more clues on the FA Cup and the impact on gameweek 30.
All I’m saying for the moment is that I’m going to roll over my free transfer and continue doing so, so I have 2 for GW25 to give me maximum flexibility. After the Cap 1 semis mid week and the 4th round of the FA cup this weekend the premutations will be so much clearer. Thats why I’ll be holding off on my transfers irrespective of value movements. I’m not sure how long it will take to announce the dates of the postponed Cap 1 finalists postponed games though.
I’ll be doing at least 1 more article on this, if not 2 before GW24 to try and shed more light on the permutations.
You may have a different view on double game weeks and whether to tailor your transfers around them or not. I’ll probably be going all out as a way forward to make up some ground
