Fantasy premier league – FFGeek picks for GW19

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my picks for fantasy premier league GW19.  Remember its just a team for this gameweek.  No other fixtures are taken into account. However this becomes more relevant as we get nearer to the January wildcard as you can undo any transfers you do now with an early wildcard.  The point of the GW19 picks post is just to help you with any last minute transfer decisions.  If you think that someone has a good chance of points in GW19 over someone else than maybe that will swing the argument. The comments are fairly brief as alot of the players are covered by my “ones to watch” articles so excuse that

Tremmell

An outstanding performance at Chelsea which even Mourinho acknowledged.  Swansea haven’t had a clean sheet for a while away from home now but they are generally better away than at home defensively.  However only at Saints and City have they conceded more than 1.  However if you’re going to get a clean sheet away from home then a Bentekeless Villa is the place to do it.  They’ve only scored in 1 home game in the last 6.

Harper

Prior to the Utd game they had only conceded 3 goals and had 5 clean sheets at home.  Harper is the cheapie understudy to MacGregor who’s injured with no return date.  Before the Everton and Norwich game Fulham have failed to score in 5 consecutive away games.

Kompany

Home to Palace is a good bet for a clean sheet especially as Pulis will be focusing on keeping the score down only.  Kompany has also got good attacking potential as shown with goals in his last 2.  Palace have failed to score in 4 of 9 away and only scored 1 in the rest of those games.

Smalling

Norwich away is a good chance for a clean sheet despite Uniteds pretty poor clean sheet potential away.  With an injuries to Rafael and Jones and Valencia suspended he seems certain to have a role.  A goal in the game against Hull underlines his attacking credentials.  Norwich have scored in all but 2 of their 9 home games but only twice more than once.

Dawson

It wasn’t so long ago that Spurs had one of the best defences in the league.  A new attacking approach from Sherwood may blunt that even further than AVBs insistence on a high line in all situations.  However  Stoke have only scored once in their last 3 away games and this looks like a chance to get the defence back on track if ever there was one.

Caulker

I can see whoever Sunderlands opponents away from home  are constantly featuring in this article.  Prior to the fortuitous win at Everton they had not scored in 6 away games.  Cardiff aren’t exactly world beating defensively at home but with that record they don’t need to be.  Without Brown and potentially O’Shea look for Caulkers attacking potential to provide additional points.  He’s a constant threat at set pieces and has scored twice already this season.

Coleman

The best attacking defensive player in the league in the best overall defence.  Southampton are no mugs attacking wise but you cant ignore Coleman and Everton at the moment.

Hazard

3 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 starts.  He’s returned in 3 of his last 5 home games.  Either unplayable or anonymous .  The Liverpool defence is so poor it counts as flat track bully status with only 2 clean sheets in 9 games away.  Should play given the trust Mourinho has and the magnitude of the game despite his virtual ever present status.

Januzaj

With Nani injured and Valencia suspended a place in the team away to Norwich seems a distinct possibility for  the youngster.  He started 4 consecutive games with a goal and an assist in those games.  He’s also looking more effective each game.  Norwich have looked vulnerable at home to the better sides.  Everton scored 2 but could have had a hatful and Chelsea cruised to 3 goals.

Walcott

2 away games 4 goals since his return.  The master of the counter attack. A consistent returner over his career.  Newcastle have had 3 clean sheets at home but can be vulnerable to quality attacking sides as Liverpool showed in the 2-2 draw.

Eriksen

Seems like we’ve been here before?  A great debut and a good share of the set pieces including a fantastic free kick goal.  Will benefit from 2 strikers and a more attacking outlook.  Stoke have no Huth no Wilson and no  Begovic.  To be honest they were fairly hopeless away from home with them let alone without.  Should be shooting practice for a more attacking Spurs side.

Silva

Returned in each of the 3 games since he’s got back into the team after injury.  A pivotal creative force.  Shouldn’t need a rest given the lack of recent gametime.  Palace away have improved since Pulis joined as witnessed by a good display at Chelsea.  This is Manchester City we are talking about though.  They’ve scored 37 goals in 9 home games.  Opposition is irrelevant.

Lukaku

Hasn’t scored in 5 now but returns have been bolstered by rather dubious assists.  Still has the talent and potential to explode at anytime especially if Everton get an early goal.  Southampton’s high line will suit his movement and ability to get behind defences.  The Southampton away defence hasn’t been as good as their home defence.  The clean sheet at Cardiff was the first after conceding in 5 away.

Rooney

Looked far more like a striking pair than Rooney having a fixed position behind Welbeck at Hull.  At times Welbeck was dropping into midfield when United didn’t have the ball.  A very good sign on top of pen duties and large set piece involvement.  Looks a major threat.  As I said for Januzaj Norwich have looked vulnerable at home to the better sides.  Everton scored 2 but could have had a hatful and Chelsea cruised to 3 goals.

Suarez

Was incredibly unlucky not to have returned at City.  I cant see the Chelsea at Arsenal and United turning up at Stamford Bridge and parking the bus in front of their home.  Certainly Aguero had decent chances against them and scored.  Not as effective away as at home but its still 5 goals and 6 assists away from home and returns in 4 out of 6 games.

Hope that helped for your fantasy premier league GW19 team
