THE TRANSFER DEBATE
There wasn’t a debate really. I was never going to do a transfer because I wanted Firmino and Hazard to do the Swansea and Hull fixtures and then work out what to do with the flexibility that 2 transfers would give me.
I also want to look at which Spurs cheapie defender out of Wimmer and Davies will replace Vertonghen so that will be useful to hold off until next week.
TEAM SELECTION
It was quite surreal to have to have selection decisions although in reality it was only Holebas vs Ake. Two players who could easily not play at all. In the end I’ve gambled on Ake. The risk is that he makes a 1 minute cameo from the bench and Holebas gets a clean sheet but I’m willing to risk it and hope he either plays or doesn’t at all. I imagine the choices will be irrelevant as 1 of Ake or Holgate won’t play.
There was a little bit of debate of the order of the subs bench but I went for Holebas over Fletcher as he does have some set piece responsibility
THE BOOKIES VIEW
Here’s how the bookies see the team. I’ve assumed Ake doesn’t play but Holgate does
Well if this is right it could be a bumper week for me as the odds are so good for everyone apart from Crouch and Holebas. I can’t remember having an average and a median as good as this as well as 4 players under £2.00
CAPTAIN CHOICE
At the moment I’m going for Sanchez. A captain article will follow at some stage though
