Here’s our fantasy premier league GW25 forward player rankings article. Each player is ranked as a transfer target for GW25. There’s a table of stats plus some narrative on prospects and their next 6 fixtures
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW25 FORWARD PLAYER RANKINGS
CONTEXT
You’ve probably seen this a load of times but just remember the GW26 and GW28 situation
Postponed in GW26
Southampton v Arsenal
Man City v Man Utd
These are related to the clubs that are in the EFL final and will have their fixtures postponed.
I’ve marked these teams in red
Those certain of fixtures in GW28
Bournemouth v West Ham
Everton v WBA
Hull v Swansea
These are the fixtures where both clubs are out of the FA Cup and therefore their fixtures should stand in GW28 while others could potentially be postponed depending on 5th round results
I’ve marked these teams in green
How you deal with the blanks depends on numbers you have already and your attitude to the risk of having players blanking for those fixtures. Therefore I haven’t immediately changed rankings for this.
Here’s the ranking table in it’s short form below.
In addition here’s the link to the google internet spreadsheet for the full stats tables with alot more info. I’ve added more stats including their goals and assists, consistency of returns, whether they take penalties, set piece involvement and average minutes for the last 4 games. Also I’ve added the position they will play. Thats less relevant for forwards unless they are playing wide or as a support striker
Remember it’s their rank as a transfer target for this week. This can be affected by the next fixture. So a forward who’s next game is away to Chelsea will have their ranking diminished to some degree compared to someone who’s home to Swansea.
Comments and fixtures are for the top 10 ranked players
The columns are self explanatory. The fixture ease column shows the easiness ranking of the next 3 fixtures. Use this link to see the full fixture ease article.
The rankings include the blank gameweek issues for GW26 not not GW28.
COSTA
Chelsea have a guaranteed fixture in GW26. They face Wolves away in the FA Cup 5th round who Liverpool lost to. However I would back them to win and then have a blank GW28
He is this years Mr Consistency with returns of a goal or assist in 17/22 games this season. Does have some issue with getting bonus points though it seems. Very good underlying stats. A 90 minute player. Only negative is the GW28 probable blank.
Next 3 fixtures GW25-GW27
Burnley (A)
Swansea (H)
West Ham (A)
GABRIEL JESUS
Man City have a blank in GW26 and are likely to have a blank in GW28 assuming they win their 5th round FA Cup fixture away to Huddersfield
Here’s what I said in my Bandwagons article. The 2nd week in a row he’s top of the transfers in. Great performance finishing 2 goals in the home game to Swansea. It’s now 3 goals and an assist in 2 games and good underlying stats to go with it. There are 2 watchouts for me though. 1 is that he is likely to have blanks in GW26 and GW28 and secondly he has faced 3 of the worst defences in the league in West Ham, Swansea and Palace in the cup. Granted he was impressive against Spurs albeit for 9 minutes at the end of the game. However if there is a team next to transfer him in for despite the negatives it’s Bournemouth who’ve conceded 16 goals in their last 5 games.
Bournemouth (A)
POSTPONED
Sunderland (A)
IBRAHIMOVIC
Manchester United have a blank in GW26 and you’d have to back them to best Blackburn away in the FA Cup to give them a blank in GW28
A very consistent performer with great underlying stats and pens too. Only negative is the likely blanks in GW26 and GW28. However the fixtures before GW28 couldn’t be better. Pretty guaranteed to play 90 minutes and likely to be rested, at least in part, for the European and FA Cup games
Watford (H)
POSTPONED
Bournemouth (H)
LUKAKU
Everton have a guaranteed game in GW26 and GW28
4 goals with ruthless finishing from practically every chance given to him. It is 7 goals and 1 assist in the last 7 games. No blanks and the focus of the Everton team is his strength too.
Middlesbrough (A)
Sunderland (H)
Spurs (A)
KANE
Spurs have a guaranteed game in GW26. If they win their FA Cup 5th round game against Fulham away then they will have a bye in GW28. One of the more loseable premier league team games if they play a weakened side.
Has everything you want from a striker. Despite what I said he has generally returned at a consistent rate, has great underlying stats, will usually play 90 minutes and has penalties.
Liverpool (A)
Stoke (H)
Everton (H)
CARROLL
West Ham have a guaranteed game in GW26 and GW28
Is an injury doubt so needs monitoring. However in good form and consistent. Injuries are what prevents him being a 90 minute player. The Chelsea fixture is the annoyance on the horizon
West Brom (H)
Watford (A)
Chelsea (H)
DEFOE
Sunderland have a game in GW26. Their GW28 opponents Middlesborough would have to lose to Oxford at home to have a fixture in GW28
Another example of ruthless finishing (and pretty hopeless defending and goalkeeping tbf) in his 2 goals against Crystal Palace. Typical of Defoe he can finish. Pretty consistent in good form and a 90 minute player who is the focal point of his teams attack. Fixtures up to GW28 could be better
Southampton (H)
Everton (A)
Man City (H)
CROUCH
Guaranteed a fixture in GW26. Their GW28 opponents Man City would have to lose away to Huddersfield for Stoke to have a fixture
For such a cheap player it’s been a pretty good effort and what’s even more surprising is that the underlying stats don’t betray those returns. Likely blank in GW28 and 2 tricky fixtures after Palace make it a good time to sell after that game
Crystal Palace (H)
Spurs (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
NIANG
Watford are guaranteed a fixture in GW26. Their GW28 opponents Chelsea would have to lose away to Wolves for the fixture to stand
An impressive start to the league with a goal and assist in his 2nd appearance in the game at home to Burnley for the man Watford signed on loan from AC Milan. The goal and assist were quality as well. He is a French 22 year old CF who has scored 3 goals and 3 assists in 18 games in Serie A at a goal or assist every 187 minutes which isn’t that impressive
Very early days though and the odds are that he will have a bye in GW28
Man Utd (A)
West Ham (H)
Southampton (H)
BARNES
Burnley are guaranteed a fixture in GW26. They would have to lose at home to Lincoln City in the FA Cup to have their fixture in GW28 away to Liverpool to stand
I’ve put him slightly ahead of Gray. Although Gray has pens Barnes’ stats are better over the full spectrum. He’s useful for 3-5-2 as well
Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)
Swansea (A)
