Introduction
This is part 2 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more. The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change. Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

Rick Porter
Rick’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.
GW31 points: 59 (FPL average 41) Total points: 2,096, Overall Rank: 1k, no rank movement, Team Value: £105.6m

I don’t think it’s a massive exaggeration to say that having Dallas come off my bench saved my week. Had Dias stepped onto the pitch or I’d put Targett in the second sub position then I’d be looking at a reasonably large red arrow instead of a small green. GW31 belonged to the Wildcarders and plenty of popular WC picks delivered the goods, it was only Dallas’ 17 points that allowed me to keep any sort of pace. I’m more than happy to take a bit of luck when it presents itself.
Transfer
Considering his form, not already having Lingard is a clear oversight on my part and I’m lucky to have gotten away with it so far. Although I wanted to save my transfer this week, I found I had the right money to do a straight swap for Gundogan so I made an early transfer before I was priced out and lost the option. Losing Gundogan ahead of Villa probably isn’t the ideal time but his chances of starting are 50/50 at best, his ownership will be similar to Lingard’s by deadline, and he’d probably be gone next week when City blank anyway. That doesn’t mean he’s not perfectly poised to punish me though.
Captain
No surprises here. Kane captain. You’d have to be brave not to.

Here’s the team with the transfer made:
Kev in Canada
Kev finished 48k last season 6k in 18/19 and 195k in 17/18
GW31 points: 45 (FPL average 41) Total points: 1,965, Overall Rank: 105k, red arrow 15k, Team Value: £105.5m

So I went for Trent Alexander Arnold, which means I need to take a hit for Son this week.
Trent 11 – Cancelo 1 – Hit 4 = 6 Point win.
I also braved captaining Alexander Arnold 11 over Salah 7 for another 4 Point win.
However none of that mattered this week, as everyone that is even remotely highly owned that I don’t have, had a double digit score. Iheanacho, Lingard, Son killed my score. Also Calvert-Lewin and Smith-Rowe picking up post deadline knocks and Taylor mysteriously being dropped added to the hell.
Not much I can do. The decisions in my control I got right for a net 10 point win. So clearly the world is against me and all that and I should go cry about it.
The reality is I need to just forget about it and hope the luck circles back over the next few weeks for a strong finish. If I play my game I should finish OK. Luck will decide if I finish top 10K or top 500K it seems. Not sure what else to say after a demoralizing week like this. Hopefully it didn’t happen to you too.
Transfers already completed this week:
Gundogan to Son
Calvert Lewin to Iheanacho
Captain Kane
Vice Salah (in case Tottenham get COVID or something)
Good luck!
I don’t have a team from Kev but here’s last weeks points:
Costas Chari
Costas’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 17k, 84k, 29k and 27k
GW31 points: 51 on Wildcard (FPL average 41) Total points: 1,941, Overall Rank: 171k, no rank movement Team Value: £103.5m
Costas has used his Triple Captain Chip, Wildcard and his Bench Boost Chip.

WC played! Same rank, although technically I actually lost 65 places. I was doing great until Lingard and Iheanacho both braced!!! Hopefully its Vardy’s turn this week!
I don’t regret any of my decisions to be honest and you cant judge a WC from the first gameweek!
I was going to roll my transfer but the Neto injury forces me to act. I am going with Trossard who has great 33, 34 and 35 games. A win and a draw in these games will seal their survival so hopefully it comes via his feet. He is on bench however this week. I am just doing the transfer early as I have the exact amount required and need a bench option as Smith Rowe is injured and Davis rarely plays.
I am without Son this week. Both Bruno Fernandes and Salah who could have been options to sell and then buy back for gw33 have good fixtures so I don’t see a reason to take a hit
Captain on Kane !

Here’s the team with transfer made:
Sergio Torija
Sergio’s last 4 seasons were 2k, 596k, 17k and 21k
GW31 Points: 64 (FPL average 41) Total points: 1,815, Overall Rank: 549k, green arrow: 72k Team Value: £104.1m
Sergio has used his Triple Captain Chip, Wildcard and his Bench Boost Chip
FPL is a silly irrational game at times, and this week was one of those. I got my best gameweek of the year (41K GW rank) with 79 points, in a week in which I probably took the worst decisions of the season, mainly a sentimental move to draft in Aguero and captain him. Of course he missed, as did Lookman and DCL, which meant I got my 3 subs coming in including Dallas’ 17 points last on the bench. Sometimes we deserve and don’t get reward, sometimes we don’t and get without expecting. Unlikely that I will get this lucky again this year.
So maybe wake up call for me to stop experimenting and doing random moves with my team. The season is long lost for a top finish, but I am now at 300K, with everything going well and playing ‘safe’ I think it is realistic to save the season inside 100K OR. This week I’ve gone early with the transfers and have used my 2 frees already, Aguero and Digne go for Ihenacho and Reguilon. This leaves lots of money in the bank, so I could potentially still do a third move in midfield for Salah or Jota. To get Salah it would need to be Foden who goes, for Jota it could be Lookman. Or I might delay the move.
I will most certainly be playing my free hit chip in GW33, with currently 6 of my players blanking.
Finally, let’s not mess with the captaincy this week, triple captain Kane for those still with the chip, not my case, so just the regular captain. Son as vice. I might still change the 11 and bench orders.
Good luck everyone
