McDonalds
Total points 202. Overall rank 45k. No Wildcard or Maximum captain used
A good day for the last day saw a saw a 25k improvement in rank.
Knockout phase changes
You need to make your captain changes and substitutions before the first kick off of 3pm UK time Friday 6 July
Make sure you make the changes in the quarter final tab. It defaults to the semis so it’s easy to make them in the wrong area especially on the desk top version
I did think about using my wildcard but the 3 transfers only left me with 2 non players so I thought I would save it for the semis. I think I’m going to use the maximum captain also for the semis as you can use both at the same time.
I’m hoping Kane and Neymar can produce a goal between them so I don’t need to use the maximum captain.
Here’s the 3 transfers:
Lukaku out Griezmann in
Isco (eliminated) out to Modric
Carvajal (eliminated) to Maguire
That leaves 2 non players in Sommer the Swiss GK and Quintero the Colombia midfielder.
Neymar would be my captain on the Friday and depending on his points Kane on Saturday.
The one decision I’m not sure about is the Griezmann in for Lukaku. If I’m not using my wildcard then I’m not worried if Lukaku doesn’t go through. I’m still debating that as I could get an additional midfielder or defender/GK for the 2 non players if I retain Lukaku.
Here’s the team with the 3 transfers unconfirmed. I’m going to leave it until the teams are announced for the first game. I will at least tweet the transfers probably around 2pm UK time on Friday 6 July.
If you’re looking for stats on potential players for their clubs for today here are my key articles. Remember though they were done prior to the tournament so you need to see at least how much they played in the Group stages and the round of 16 before you pick anyone and also look at the probable lineups below
Sun Dream Team
Total points 267 Overall Rank 26k transfers used 16 out of 20
A bit of a nothing day saw a 2k deterioration in rank. Pretty disappointing considering I had 3 England players but at least they go through.
In retrospect you can transfer a player for a game after the first 1 in a match day as long as the player out’s team hasn’t played on the matchday and the player in’s team hasn’t played on the match day. Here’s the rules which I think I interpreted incorrectly at first. The Sun Live chat have verified it as did some other managers who have used it so it seems safe
An eligible transfer will take immediate effect and will occur if you transfer a Player out for another Player where neither the outgoing Player’s Country nor the incoming Player’s Country have played during that Match Day.
If you’re looking for stats on potential players for today here are my key articles with stats mainly for their clubs. Remember though they were done prior to the tournament so you need to see at the very least how much they played in the Group stages and the round of 16 and appear in the probable lineups below
Transfers
So I’m going to take the quarter finals game by game. If Cavani doesn’t start in the first game otherwise I will transfer him out for Mbappe. I can’t afford Griezmann. After that my transfers will be considered after the result of each game
I will tweet any transfers about 2pm or 6pm UK time on Friday and then do an article on Saturday
Here’s the team as of today prior to any transfers with Tuesdays points showing.
Telegraph fantasy football
The standard team: Total points 286 Overall Rank 17.7k transfers used 2 out of 20 in for the remainder of the tournament
The Def Block team: Total points 303 Overall Rank 11.3k transfers used 6 out of 20 in for the remainder of the tournament
In the telegraph you definitely can make transfers between matches.
the standard team
So a small deterioration in rank of 1k OR to 17.7k as Lingard and Pickford only picked up 3 points between them.
Like the Sun team I’m going to react as results go forward. I have no Uruguay or France players but I’m probably just going to sit that one out rather than transfer players out and then in again. This is especially the case as I think everyone will play apart from maybe Strinic who went off v Denmark. So I will probably not make any transfers on the Friday unless there’s more news on him in which case I maybe will put a French defender in.
If I do make any transfers I will at least tweet any transfers probably around 2pm or 6pm UK time on Friday and then an article on Saturday.
Here’s how the team looks at the moment.
the defensive block team
A small drop in rank of 2k as only Harry Kane played on the Tuesday.
It seems that Marcelo maybe fit so I may remove Luis who would then not start and put in a French defender and then swap to Marcelo. Not sure who of the French defenders at the moment.
As I said above, I’m going to react as results go forward. Apart from the Luis transfer, if Marcelo is fit, I have no Uruguay or France players but I’m just going to sit that one out rather than transfer players out and then in again. This is especially the case as I think everyone will play apart from Luis.
All that depends on the Marcelo fitness reports for Friday. Whoscored expect him to play.
I will at least tweet any transfers around 2pm UK time or 6pm
Here’s the team then as it stands:
