FPL best fixtures GW6 – a fixture ease schedule for attacking players and defensive players

Methodology

Were getting near to the point where I will only use 19/20 data but I’m still basing it on 18/19 and making adjustments for current form etc.

The idea is to have 2 fixture ease schedules. One will rank the teams by the ease of the opposition defences they face over the upcoming games. That will be called the attackers fixture ease schedule.

The 2nd will rank the teams by the ease of the attacking teams they face. This will be called the defenders fixture ease schedule.

I have done this by looking at the goals scored last season to rank attacking teams and goals conceded last season to rank defensive teams on a home and away basis. I’ve then applied a factor against the average goals home and away. I have adjusted some of the factors if a team over or under performed their expected goals by a considerable margin but that was only in a low number of cases. For the promoted teams I have tried to find a proxy team from 18/19 teams and used their data although there are some adjustments as we get a look at them. I’ve also made subjective adjustments for transfer activity. I will keep using last seasons data adjusted until I feel there is enough to move onto this seasons.

I have a fixture graphic below which I’ve colour coded for difficulty. It is just to improve the visual aspect of the schedule and the factors I’ve talked about above, rather than the just the colours, are basis for calculation.

Defensive player suggestions

I’ve gone for Man City, Arsenal, Norwich and Everton.  I’ve avoided Chelsea as they have Liverpool next so it makes little sense to do a transfer this week.  Remember the £4.5m ish defenders can be used in rotation.

Man City

After the fiasco that was the loss to Norwich it’s difficult to predict who could be the victims in the next lineup.  None of the back 4 had a good game.  Walker has Cancelo as a potential replacement.  Mendy will be fit in the near future to replace Zinchenko.  Fernandinho could replace one of the CBs.  Therefore at the moment I’m not going to suggest anyone except Ederson

£5.0m GK Ederson – 18/19 PPM – 4.4. PPM 19/20 – 3.6

Arsenal

It’s not going well for Arsenal defensively to say the least but they do have good fixtures.  Unfortunately the fullbacks of Kolasinac and Maitland Niles both face competition in the near future from Tierney and Bellerin respectively.  So then it’s down to the GK and a CB

£5.0m GK Leno – 18/19 PPM – 3.1. PPM 19/20 – 3.3

£5.0m Def Sokratis – 18/19 PPM – 2.8 PPM 19/20 – 2.6

Norwich

Again another side not exactly covering themselves in glory defensively at the moment although they have had some tough fixtures.  Defenders are cheap enough to be used in rotation.

£4.5m GK Krul – 18/19 PPM – n/a PPM 19/20 – 2.0

£4.5m Def Godfrey – 18/19 PPM – n/a PPM 19/20 – 1.0

£4.5m Def Lewis – 18/19 PPM – n/a PPM 19/20 – 1.8

Everton

£5.6m GK Pickford – 18/19 PPM – 4.2 PPM 19/20 – 3.6

£6.2m Def Digne – 18/19 PPM – 4.5 PPM 19/20 – 4.6

£5.6m Def Mina – 18/19 PPM – 2.8 PPM 19/20 – 3.8
