Introduction

This is part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. In the future it also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

See the part 1 contributors and part 2 contributors article.

GW15 review

A disappointing 2nd red arrow in succession after I was stung again by my transfer out. Returns for Mount and Abraham were the rank killers here, more frustrating as I’ve sold them both in the last 2 weeks due to lack of form an injury respectively.

The other frustration was the 20 points left in positions 2 and 3 in my bench. I’m not too down on this as I wouldn’t have selected differently looking at the fixtures, but the absence of the likes of Salah and Martial means that my OR was damaged a little more by the likes of Kelly, Rico and Dendoncker who otherwise wouldn’t get a look in.

I did manage 5 returns though 3 of these were also booked. Lacazette’s goal last night thankfully kept me in the top 100k, so I’ll take it on the chin and move forward. On to what looks like a tough GW16.

GW16 Team

1ft and 3m in the bank for this week. Having just mentioned Lacazette, he’s a fixture based target for a transfer out but I’ll give him the West Ham game this week before I switch him out – likely for Abraham. I’ve also now got Chambers not playing, still have issues with my Spurs keeper and there’s also Tielemans with 3 blanks in a row.

On my watchlist along with Abraham is Dele Alli. He’s looking dangerous with a low ownership and could be starting to rekindle some of his form from a couple of seasons ago. I’m keen to bring him in, so he’ll be my transfer in this week with Tielemans making way. It’ll be a shame to lose the Leicester man, but this frees up a Leicester slot which I might use to bring Schmeichel in at some point.

For my team, selection is fairly easy – it’s the same bench as GW15 (despite the 20 points that was left there!) This looks a tougher week though with 8/11 players away from home including my entire defence. I’ll wait for the polls before picking my captain but I suspect it will be Vardy again. I would ask the dog, but as you may have heard on this week’s Podcast he rolled in something rather unpleasant yesterday and he still doesn’t smell very nice!

Sorry it’s a bit of a brief write-up this week and best of luck folks, hope you enjoy the games.

Stephen Troop

Stephen’s last 3 seasons overall rank were 43k, 52k and 64k

GW15 points: 59 (FPL average 49) Total points 850 Gameweek rank 1,749k, Overall Rank: 266k, green arrow 4k, Team Value: £103.6m

A better week but only a small 4k green arrow as many popular assets did well and a largely neutral captain week as Vardy was so far ahead in popularity. Abraham repaid the faith with a nice 12 point haul, although those who replaced him with the liked of Rashford, Ings etc got enough points to more of less match that. It was nice to get some final points out of Mount before I likely move him on. I finally got some Soyuncu clean sheet points as well which was nice.

Going into GW16 and I have 2 FT. The players I’m considering leaving are one of the Liverpool defenders, Mount, Pope/Button to get some better fixtures, McGinn and Williams who was a mistake to get in.

The players I want are Alli, Pulisic, a GK with better fixtures and potentially Grealish and Zaha are options too. The most likely route I’ll take is Mount>Alli and Robertson/TAA > a cheap defender. Likely a Palace defender (if there are any left not injured). Sterling therefore gets yet more chances in my team. I hope to then hold a free transfer and have 2 to deal with Liverpool’s blank GW18.

Mane will be my captain. The guys playing amazingly right now and Bournemouth is a good fixture. Vardy vice. Not 100% on my bench as it will depend on which defender I bring in and whether I want to play McGinn or Soyuncu who play each other.

Good luck all
