Sun Dream Team transfer window 2 – If I could start my team again

Sun Dream Team

Here’s my Sun Dream Team if I had the luxury of starting again.

Sun Dream team transfer window 2.  If I could start again

I’ve used the stats and commentary from my best in position articles to give it a bit of consistency.  I hope it gives you some ideas for your Sun Dream team transfer window 2

Boruc £1.5m The GK from the all conquering Saints defence is the top point scoring GK from the non European teams.  Not in the Capital One.  Very difficult premier league fixtures though with Arsenal Chelsea and Everton away plus City and Chelsea at home.  Only Villa and WBA at home plus Cardiff and Sunderland  away look like good fixtures.  However as they showed at Liverpool with a clean sheet win they aren’t afraid of anyone.  A big gamble though given the fixtures

John Terry £5.0m points:64    Sun Dream Team Def Rank 4     PPG  4.27     7+ awards – 47%Chelsea haven’t performed on the clean sheet front in the premier league.  Surprisingly though Terry has had a lot of gametime and has started all the premier league games.  Also far better value than the rest of the defence .  Chelsea are in the Capital One Cup and the Champions league but Terry wont play the FA cup.  Fixtures dont have many standout easy games but there’s enough to suggest they can pick up the clean sheets.  Terry has good attacking potential at set pieces as well.  Chelsea defence can only get better.
Kyle Walker £4.0m   points:63    Sun Dream Team Def Rank 5     PPG  3.9     7+ awards – 38%Vertonghen is the Sun Dream Team darling and the top point scoring defender but Walker is cheaper by £1.5m and less rotatable as Spurs don’t have a real RB rotation option.  By the way Danny Rose is an absolute bargain at £2.5m he’s supposed to be fit for the 23 November. He should get back into the side as Spurs need the attacking width that Vertonghen at LB doesn’t really give.
Kieron Gibbs  £3.5m    points:63    Sun Dream Team Def Rank 5     PPG  3.7     7+ awards – 41%The Arsenal defence hasn’t been performing as well as it could have been with only 2 clean sheets in the premier league.  However, the underlying stats have been sound.  Also, they’ve only conceded more than 1 goal in the league once.  Gibbs and Sagna are the same price and a pretty interchangeable choice having got similar points.  I marginally prefer Gibbs although its a pretty close call.  Arsenal aren’t in the Capital one and both Sagna and Gibbs will be rotated in the FA Cup but some good fixtures in the premier league including  Hull, Cardiff and Fulham at home.  Arsenal defence will improve.
Razan Rat £1.0m    points:25    Sun Dream Team Def Rank 47      PPG  2.5     7+ awards – 40%Could have easily have been Curtis Davies but i went for what i see as the longevity of the West Ham defence.  Seems to have made the West Ham LB position his own an a bargain in a defence bolstered by the fact that there’s normally 10 of them.  Fixtures are a bit mixed but the priority the manager puts n defence will surely see clean sheets.  Should take the FA Cup seriously if not in any relegation issues
Silva (£5.5m)    Points:  57     Sun Dream Team Mid rank:  4     PPG:  5.2     7+awards: 82%     Starman awards:  18%Another man loved by Sun Dream Team.  The only issue is that he’s currently injured but expected back 4 December.   It is a gamble then to transfer him in.  It’s made worse by the fact that he doesn’t have a great injury record in the first place.  However, has the class and should share the star man awards with Aguero as the main creative force.  Also getting into the box and scoring more this year which will help the points total
Gerrard (£5.0m)   Points:  52     Sun Dream Team Mid rank:  8     PPG:  4     7+awards: 77%     Starman awards:  8%Another guy absolutely loved by Sun Dream Team.  Had a slow start to the season but has come alive recently.  Normally gets a 7 rating in the warm up and with pens and free kicks will always get the chance to return. Suarez will hog the Starman awards s the only issue
Points:  140     Sun Dream Team Mid rank:  1     PPG:  7.8     7+awards: 72%     Starman awards:  38% Incredible to think that he’s  finished 60 points ahead of any other midfielder.  That’s virtually the same points total as 3rd placed midfielder Lallana.  Can it go on?  Every week I think it can’t and then he does something spectacular again.  This is a guy who has never scored more than 3 goals in a season in the premier league.  Also, it’s also not like Bale last year when Bale at least had a load of shots to back up the goals, Ramsey doesn’t have that.  All logic says it has to stop, but you cant use logic with Ramsey at the moment , its gone beyond that.  What makes it worse is that Sun Dream team love him with 7+ awards and Star man awards coming out of his ears.  The good news is that to cover him its not expensive but it does use a precious transfer.
Suarez (£7.5m)   Points:  73     Sun Dream Team Str rank:  6     PPG:  10.4     7+awards: 86%     Starman awards:  29%Outstanding start to the season although has had good fixtures to facilitate that.  Disadvantage is that he wont have extra European and Capital One cup games like Rooney and Aguero.  However, Suarez  probably wont be rotated for FA Cup games either given his late start and lack of additional competitions.  Remember Liverpool were knocked out early from the Capital One.
Aguero (£7.0m)    Points:  108     Sun Dream Team Str rank:  1     PPG:  7.7     7+awards: 64%     Starman awards:  29%Hard to have enough superlatives for Aguero and his form this season.  Only negatives are rotation with 4 good strikers at the club and reasonably tricky fixtures in the premier league.

Rooney (£7.0mm)    Points:  87     Sun Dream Team Str rank:  3     PPG:  5.8     7+awards: 66%     Starman awards:  33%

I’ve put Rooney top over Aguero despite the lower points per game for a few reasons.  Firstly, United have better premier league fixtures than City.  Secondly, Rooney I think will be rotated less than Aguero due to number of better quality strikers at City.  Rooney also  needs to play games to stay fit.  Thirdly, Rooney has slightly more love from Sun Dream Team and is a more involved player in the game.
