Here’s Bryan’s team:

Only 26 points scored from the midweek set of matches which places the team in 3192 place.

With Aguero injured in came Jesus who had a shocker of a game against Cardiff but still came away with an assist. I will definitely take out Luke Shaw following his two match ban. Currently looking at shaking things up with Shaw to Barnes of Leicester, Jesus to De Bruyne and Rashford to Kane. That would be a change in formation to 4 -5-1 and would be a stronger eleven for the next couple of weeks.

Still harbouring ambitions of a top 1000 finish with 10 transfers (8 after the weekend) in hand.

Good luck

Team review

After the double game week, my rank remained virtually static, so I can’t be too disappointed with that. I would love to crack the top 1000 this week though.

Here’s a top tip for you. When you have planned a transfer, don’t forget to do it. I had long planned to bring in Ederson for Alisson to make the most of the two City fixtures. After getting distracted on Saturday morning, I missed my chance and had to wait, hoping that Liverpool could keep a clean sheet against Spurs to save me. It wasn’t to be. I then made the change, at least getting the points from the Cardiff game, but I was five points down on the deal. I then made a slightly rash transfer on Wednesday. After Pogba’s shocking recent form, coupled with Man United’s lack of a game this week, it seemed like a good opportunity to try and snatch up some bonus points. I swapped him for Alli. I’ve been far from convinced with either Spurs or Alli of late, but it seemed the best option at the time. Needless to say, his one point return was a little disheartening.

After not starting last weekend, Hazard came good with a bumper 13 points. Aguero and Jimenez both made meaningful contributions in one of the two games, leaving me pretty much where I started.

Team thoughts.

With Man United not playing this week, and Shaw picking up a suspension, I think it’s time for him to go. These are the possible replacements.

Van Aanholt £3.2m

Pereira £3.1m

Chilwell £3.0m

Schlupp £2.9m

A quick glance at the fixtures makes that choice quite easy. Palace have Man City and Arsenal on the horizon, while Leicester’s next fixtures are Huddersfield, Newcastle and West Ham, before The Foxes also have to face Arsenal and Man City. In that case it looks like one of the Leicester fullbacks.

If Aguero was unfit, I was toying with the idea of bringing in Vardy, but Aguero has travelled and should feature in the FA cup. I think everyone else can stay for at least another week.

After moving on Luke Shaw, I will be left with 10 transfers, which I’m delighted with.

Good luck boys and girls.

Stephen Troop

Stephen finished approximately 1k last season OR

Week points: 34 Overall rank: 5,602 Transfers remaining: 10 total points: 1,711

A pretty average week overshadowed by me forgetting to do my transfers last night (the perils of having multiple teams). With Aguero being out for apparently a couple of games at least, I was going to transfer him out for either Jesus or Kane (De Bruyne would have been preferred but I’m maxed out in midfield).

Ultimately that hasn’t cost me too much so far but I was punished by having non City defenders again. Hazard somewhat saved me but my Tuesday transfer of Anderson to Pererya went awfully as he went off injured at half time after contributing nothing. Hopefully he is back for the FA cup semi final. My rank is 5.6k which is below where I want to be.

Preview

I think Alisson > Ederson is set for this weekend but I don’t see any other moves unless I hear more about Aguero’s or Pereyra’s injury which forces my hand.
