Fantasy premier league best strikers over £6.0m – gameweek 4

The premium strikers haven’t started that well apart from Costa and Aguero so it’s a difficult table to say the least.  We’re also faced with a number of injuries so read the narrative

Costa

Like many of the strikers he has injury issues although the press at this stage seems to be suggesting he will be ok for GW4.  Been absolutely fantastic and it’s been no fluke as his shooting and creating chances stats have been fantastic.  Fixtures are mixed but it’s questionable whether fixtures are relevant to the Chelsea machine.  Ownership % and form makes it impossible not to own him.

Swansea (H)
Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Arsenal (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)

Aguero

Disappointing like the whole City team against Stoke but a one game struggle doesn’t take anything  away from his talent and his record last year.  Very tough fixtures especially the next 2.  Surprisingly given his record no injury converns

Arsenal (A)
Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)
Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)
West Ham (A)

Sturridge (UPDATE:  Liv Echo report out for 2-3 weeks)

A big big injury doubt which makes this a very qualified ranking that he will be fit for the weekend.  A  great shame considering the fixtures coming up.  Consistent performer last season who’sbeen unlucky so far not to have returned more

Aston Villa (H)
West Ham (A)
Everton (H)
West Brom (H)
QPR (A)
Hull (H)

RVP

This is the first of the 3 Man Utd strikers in the article.  The fixtures especially the next 3 and the quality of the players makes them impossible to ignore even given the rather poor form to date.  RVP will have pens I would think.

QPR (H)
Leicester (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)

Falcao

His 34 goals and 2 assists in 40 games for A Madrid in 12/13 really show what a quality player where dealing with.  The risks are how he’s recovered from his knee injury and the lack of assists he brings to the table.  That has generally been a crucial part to a really top quality forward in FPL at this price bracket.  Again the next 3 fixtures couldn’t be much better.  Possible he could debut from the bench but no hint so far

QPR (H)
Leicester (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)

Rooney

Rooneys considerable ownership has been dropping after 2 blanks and 2 pretty quiet performances to say the least.  Also very possible he will drop to the number 10 role to accomodate Falcao becoming a pair with RVP  which does result in far less chances for him.  Selling before the next 3 fixtures and especially the next one before we know the Falcao impact is a risky move.

QPR (H)
Leicester (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)

Ballotelli

Had a number of chances against Spurs and showed good energy up front.  Could really benefit from the good fixtures coming up

Aston Villa (H)
West Ham (A)
Everton (H)
West Brom (H)
QPR (A)
Hull (H)

Adebayor

Has played better than the 1 goal and 1 assist to date suggests.  Seems to have cemented his first team place.  Mixed fixtures to come but Spurs should score goals under the new manager

Sunderland (A)
West Brom (H)
Arsenal (A)
Southampton (H)
Man City (A)
Newcastle (H)

Welbeck

A £6.9m striker for Arsenal is too good to ignore although if you want to see if he starts and how he plays then home to City is the game to sit and wait.  Great value and not a bad record last season consaidering he wasn’t always a striker

Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Sunderland (A)

Pelle

A fixture punt for someone who has played very well without getting the reward until last week.

Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)
QPR (H)
Spurs (A)
Sunderland (H)
Stoke (H)
